Castiel sits on a park bench, deep in his own thoughts.
He marvels at the beauty of the Earth, every human, creature, and organism.
He grins as a he watches a mother sparrow pick up an earthworm from the ground and feed it to her babies, who were tucked together safely in her nest. He takes a deep breath of the crisp Spring air as he closes his eyes, then points his face at the sky, feeling the comforting warmth of the sun. He feels strangely at one with everything around him, despite being completely alone. He remembers feeling something similar to this, the day he rescued Dean from Hell. After meeting him for the first time, he began to realize the true nature of Humans and the duties he had been given since God created him. He began to find fault in that of which he believed, and truth in those which were previously unknown to him. After clearing his mind, Castiel tunes himself back into to being able to hear people's prayers.
The first prayer he heard was from the one he loves, calling his name, begging for him to come back to him. And in this moment, there was nothing he wanted more than to be with him.
