Love was Never Meant to Be
By Katie
Disclaimer: Faye, Spike, and Julia all belong to whoever owns Bebop, which isn't me. Not sure how much I like this story; I like the concept, but I don't think I did it justice. And Faye's characterization is probably off. Oh well.
Finally met her today-Julia. The girl of Spike's dreams. Seeing her, I can finally understand his obsession. She's gorgeous: beautiful blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes, soft, throaty voice. She'd drive any man wild. And she's got class, man, does she have class. Unlike me, who hides the heart of a child beneath the clothes of a slut. I never had a chance.
But then, neither did she. I mean, she had Spike, heart and soul, but they'd never make it. It's just one of those things, you know? It's impossible to picture them in a little Victorian with 2.5 kids and a white picket fence. It isn't going to happen. They're both too tainted by their involvement with the Syndicate…they'll always be on the run. Not exactly condusive to a healthy relationship. Not that Spike would be like that for long. He's not the running type. He'd do it for her, but sooner or later he'd dig in his heels and turn and face his demons. And she'd face them with him. And they'd die. It sucks, but hey, that's life. They were never meant for happiness.
Love just wasn't meant to be.
