Drabble of Colour
Hogsmeade was not the same now the war had started to rage. The fluffy snow was dark and disturbed; the shops were cold and provoking anxious feelings among the guests. So people stopped visiting, not wanting to be harassed by death eaters. The children of Hogwarts could barely remember what the old Hogsmeade looked like, so like everybody else they stopped going.
All happiness was lost in the quiet town of Hogsmeade that winter. Except for a brief moment when a young red-headed girl stood under the last snowfall and starred at the shrieking shack, unafraid, tortured and above all waiting for her loved ones to return. She placed a small bouquet of flowers against the gate and walked away without another word.
The flowers were destroyed by laughing death eaters, and the town returned to its gloomy sight, with only a brief memory of colour to help them through the last of this terrifying war.
