As I stepped inside the boat, I wondered what I was getting myself into. What if I wasn't going to live? What if something happened to me? "What's your name, young man?" the boat rower asked.

"My name is Grover. Grover Underwood."

I continued thinking about what could happen. Uncle Ferdinand wasn't so lucky when he was off to find Pan. Ok, let me start the whole story. Last summer, My two friends and I, Percy and Annabeth, went on a quest to find Zeus's lightning bolt. At the end of the quest, I decided I would find our beloved missing nature god, Pan. Many satyrs (yes, that's what I am. Half goat and half human), went to go the great quest to find Pan but never came back. I tried to push the thoughts away. Mmm…Enchiladas! Good thing I packed a couple or else I would've starved. I raised my fist in the air, "FOR THE ENCHILADAS!" I shouted. The man looked at me.

"So you like enchiladas, eh?"

My eyes brightened. "Yes, Yes! Heck yes I do!"

The man smirked. "Well where you're goin' there ain't gonna be any."

My face fell. "So…" I thought about what to say…but then I realized I had forgotten to ask him what his name was. The man must have read my mind…somehow, because he answered, "Ace."

I looked down and sighed. This might be my last time having an enchilada… I ate slowly, savoring every last bite. Ace rowed our boat away from the dock.

I wanted to back down, but I wanted didn't want to look like a chicken or perhaps I should say goat… I waited and waited. "Where are we headed?" I asked Ace.

"To the Bermuda Triangle." Oh great.

A few hours had passed. The waters were getting rougher and rougher by the minute. The boat was rocking back and forth. I looked at Ace. He looked calm and thoughtful but his eyes were filled with sorrow. I asked, "Does this place bring you memories?"

"Yes. This is where my wife had died." I was astounded. I hadn't expected this to come out of him.

I stuttered, "I-I'm so sorry…"

The man made a sad smile, "Nice to someone cares."

"What do you mean?" "Well, whenever I talk about it, nobody cares. Even her own sister didn't seem so upset that she died. I feel like it's my fault for some reason."

"No. It's not. Her death can't possibly be your fault."

"Maybe… Well, let's not talk about it anymore, eh?" I nodded.

Just then, I heard beautiful singing. I heard beautiful voices. It sounded like they were saying my name in harmony. "Grover, Grover. Oh, Grover won't you come. Show us your desires."

I felt like I was in some trance because suddenly I stood up and started going towards the edge of the boat. "NO! NO!" Ace shouted. "DON'T GO!" I ignored him and jumped off the boat.

I started swimming towards the voice. Usually I wouldn't be able to swim, but somehow I felt a force that was helping me swim. I then saw silhouettes of mermaids. They used their…hands (were they hands?) to motion for me to come. I could hear Ace, calling me to come back. But I kept on going.

Hmm…maybe this wasn't a good idea… No. I'll be fine. I'll make it. Boy was I wrong. There was much in store for me.
