The former U.S.S. Burning Steel, Kumari-class, cruised through the depths of space, her captain, the Pirate Anne "the Hammer" Holstead sitting in the captain's chair. Her first officer, David Witwer stood to her left. He bent down and whispered something in her ear. Anne smirked and looked at the help officer, Karen Andrews. "Karen, Maximum warp to sector 038, there's a convoy there that we can hit."
John Howard captain of the Centaur-class frigate U.S.S. Kingston looked out the viewscreen at the convoy of Tuffli-class freighters he was assigned to escort. The convoy's escort was made up of his ship and two other frigates, Miranda-class, the Harvard and the Prince of Wales. "Sir, ship emerging from warp, Kumari-class." Said his sensor officer. "On screen" an image of the ship appeared on the viewscreen, it was painted jet black with obvious signs of combat marring it's hull. "Hail them, I want to know what they're doing here." The community officer attempted to hail them but while she was trying the sensor officer cut in, panicked. "Sir. They're charging weapons." Captain Howard looked on in shock as a burst of cannon fire destroyed the U.S.S. Harvard. "Red alert", he shouted as the Prince of Wales took evasive action. The hostile ship fired again, slicing through the Prince of Wales" shields and severing a nacelle from the saucer section. The Kingston struck at the enemy ship, but didn't even succeed in piercing the shields. On board the Kumari, Captain Holstead ordered her weapons officer to fire on the remaining undamaged ship. The U.S.S Kingston exploded in a bright flash of light. The Prince of Wales, realizing she couldn't win, attempted to go to warp but. Due to the unstable nature of the engines, was torn apart instead.
Aboard the Burning Steel, Anne smirked, "hail the convoy", she said. When the channel wad open, she spoke directly to the convoy. "This is Captain Anne Holstead of the S.S. Burning Steel, I am claiming your convoy and all supplies on board, any attempts to resist will be met with lethal force, prepare for my crew to beam over, Burning Steel out".
