Hello everyone! I am back with another story! This one will be about Harry Potter, so all those Potterheads out there (not meant to be offensive, please forgive me if it sounds like that), come and read this story!
For all of your information, Ron and Harry are 19, but Hermione is 18. Lily is 35, and James is 39. Cho is 18, and Ginny is 17. Yes, Voldemort did attack them, but Lily and James managed to survive the attack.
There will be some OCs in this story, only to help the plot. Carling, age 12, daughter of Sirius Black, the ruler of the Elven Empire. Edo is an Elven suitor, vying for the Princess of Elves to marry him, also assigned to protect Princess Carling (Elves marry at age 13). I hope this will clear up some confusion!
I hope you enjoy this, and let's dive in my first Harry Potter story!
One more thing. A public message to someone (if you can find out who it is)!
Griffin Wish and I think that your reviews have gone too far. You seem nice at first, then show your true colors. Do you know how much that hurts? We don't think so. Fun fact: You were 75% of the reason my sister quit with your last review. On top of that, with harsh PMs, don't you think that will make a person crack?
We chose to be nice to you, but considering what you've done recently, I've blocked you. If you want, add me to your list. You deserved it.
Griffin Wish: We understand that you don't exactly like the story, so you don't need to read it. This is our first Hunger Games story as well, so please don't be so harsh. You can continue reading and we thank you for your feedback, but maybe you could explain it more gently instead of outright telling us that you don't like this specific detail or style of writing. It would be greatly appreciated.
This is not supposed to be a collaboration, just a mere message from us.
Harry
"Promise me Harry? Promise me?" Cho pressed. The young, 17 year old foreign angel (Harry called her that) was with someone special to her heart. Prince Harry James Potter, a 19 year old male, with raven black hair, and emerald green eyes, was destined to inherit the throne of Gryffindor after his parents decide to retire.
"I promise you Cho . I love you." Harry promised, and Cho smiled, leaning in for a good night's kiss. Harry complied, Cho saddled upon her cream white horse, Harry swung up on his own white horse, and the two of them parted ways to their own castles in their kingdom of the magical world.
Cho, one day I'll take you in, and you will lead Gryffindor with me one day, Harry thought. The black haired, dark-brown eyed, Ravenclaw court maiden was the only thing that Harry thought about all night. For some reason, something was troubling Harry. He tossed and turned all night, with something bothering him, but not knowing what. Soon, he fell into a sleep, which was covered in a nightmare.
Sweet music floated around, and Harry looked around. He was standing in his uniform, and Ron was donning something similar, but yet not. His mother and father were sitting off to one side, and his mother was crying. His former headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, was standing at something, with rows upon rows of people sitting down. In between two benches, there lay a beautiful gold, silver, navy, and red carpet, the colors of Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. The doors opened, and Harry saw the love of his life: Cho. Her jet black hair was covered in a barely see through veil, and was holding a large bouquet of flowers. Cho's gown was simple and elegant. But something felt wrong. Suddenly, the sunlight was blocked off, the musicians stopped playing, and Cho ran to Harry, clutching him tightly. A void of blackness opened beneath his feet, and Harry shoved Cho away, determined to prevent her from falling down with him. Harry fell and fell and fell…
"Harry, wake up!" Carling's clear, sweet voice floated into Harry's ears.
"What?" Harry asked groggily.
"You have a meeting with your parents in an hour! Hurry!" Carling answered. Carling, the most innocent teenager you will ever meet, was like a little sister to Harry, but with a better memory, as she was an elf.
"Fine." Harry sat up, and his eyes adjusted to see a girl with slightly pointed ears, soft blond hair, and kaleidoscope eyes. Carling smiled, and left the room. Harry instantly leapt up, and ran to his closet, choosing something simple, his usual uniform of a prince.
After doing all the usual morning thing, trying to tame his hair, brushing his teeth, eating breakfast, Harry was ready to meet his parents.
"No! We cannot send troops to the Hufflepuff Kingdom! Amos and Cedric will think we are intruding!" King James, Harry's father, sighed.
Amos Diggory was the ruler of the Hufflepuff kingdom(his wife died of giving birth), with his son, Cedric Diggory, in line to inherit the throne. Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa were the rulers of the Slytherin kingdom, with their son, Draco Malfoy, in line to inherit the throne. (AN: If any of you know Hermione's parents' real names, please PM them to me. For now, I will use made up names. Sorry about this!) Ethan and Sophia Granger were the rulers of the Ravenclaw kingdom, with their daughter, Hermione Jean Granger in line for the throne.
"Harry?" Queen Lily asked. Harry jolted out of his thoughts, and turned to face his mother and father, both with slightly troubled looks on their faces. He looked around, and all the advisors had left.
"Harry, there is something we need to tell you." King James started, and he took a deep breath, "You have been arranged to marry the Ravenclaw princess, Princess Hermione Jean Granger."
"What?!" Harry yelped, "I am forced to marry Princess Hermione?"
"Yes, dear. This has been decided." Queen Lily answered, "You are to be wed in one week. You are not allowed to see Princess Hermione until then."
Not allowed to see Hermione before this. That took a bit of a blow on Harry.
Not allowed to see my fiance before the wedding. Hmmm… Harry thought.
"But why? I need to get to know the princess! I've only seen her during my years at Hogwarts! I should get to know what type of person Princess Hermione is!" Harry protested. This was outrageous! Harry ran out of the room, and saddled his horse. Harry rode his horse through the center of the kingdom, and dismounted on the Gryffindor's side of the Black Lake, where he was forced to attend the second test of The Tri-Wizard Tournament. Harry skipped rocks across the lake, and using his wand, he practiced water tricks, shaping them into letters, trees, whatever he could think of. Night fell, and no one came to look for him. They knew Harry was reasonable, and he would return home at one point.
"Harry!" Cho cried, and she dismounted, and ran to Harry. Harry awaited with open arms, but seeing Cho felt like a crack that would never be filled in. Cho ran in, getting scooped up, and her small body curled up against Harry's. She looked up, and Harry captured her in a kiss.
"I'm sorry Cho. I've been forced to do this." Harry whispered after he explained what happened. Cho was now crying into his chest. This pained Harry, as normally Cho was always stoic. He set Cho onto the ground, knowing that she would want to stand. It broke his heart, yet he knew that Cho wasn't the second part of him. Harry sat down, and she sat down as well. Harry held her close to him, as if wanting to keep her forever.
"I have to go home." Cho whispered, "Even though this is happening, I will still remain by your side, serving the Four Kingdom alliance."
"I'm sorry." Harry helped her up, and their lips met for their last kiss together. It was like their first one, with Cho in tears.
"Goodbye Harry." Cho rode off.
"Wait!" Harry suddenly yelled. Cho stopped, turning her horse. Harry quickly mounted his own, and pulled out his wand. Muttering an ancient incantation, a small bunch of red and white roses appeared in his hand. He handed these flowers to Cho, who took them, holding it in front of her. They set off again to their separate castles, and headed to their room.
Hermione
Hermione sat down at her desk finishing her final touches to the project that was going on.
"Hermione?" A soft knock came onto the door, and the Princess of Ravenclaw opened the door to her parents.
"Hermione, there is something we need to tell you." Queen Sophia started.
"Hermione, you have been arranged to marry Prince Harry James Potter of Gryffindor in one week." King Ethan finished, "You have been forbidden to contact him in any way. You are also forbidden to see him before the wedding."
This stopped Hermione short. Hermione had heard of the legendary Seeker of Gryffindor, and seen him in classes when she was in Hogwarts. When she first saw him in her first year, Hermione could help herself, and resulted in a small crush on Harry.
However, Hermione dreamed about talking to the Prince, and maybe getting a kiss from him, but never dreamed about marriage. Her eyes had been set on staying single, and adopting a child for the throne.
Hermione remember those emerald green eyes that had captivated her, and most girls. In her seventh year, she remember that Harry had grown taller, and more muscular, due to all his training in physical fighting. She remembered all the girls that stalked him in the hallways, hoping for Harry to notice her.
"Marriage?!" Hermione cried, "Without meeting him?"
"Yes, dear." Queen Sophia answered, and sensing a small outburst slightly forming, she dragged King Ethan out of Hermione's room. Hermione was left alone to calm down, and paced her study as she thought about Harry.
The last time I saw him, he was with Cho. It was well known that Cho and Harry were together. I still had a small crush on Harry, but I had this pang of jealousy shoot through me every time I saw them together.
Yes, it did hurt. It was worst, because Hermione had no friends, and no people to turn to. She spent seven years studying hard, making sure that her people were represented in a correct manner, as well as treating others of a different race fairly. Hermione remembered being part of the Order, barely spending time with Harry. SheI remembered the one smile that Harry gave to me, which kind of melted Hermione on the inside. (Do not tell anyone!)
Hermione quickly scribbled a note, saying that she would like dinner taken in her room, instead of the dining hall. She heard a flurry of skirts, and knew the note was taken to account.
Hermione sat down again, already working on another project.
Harry
A white light filled the room as Harry practiced some spells. The shock and fueled him into having extra energy. Harry finally sat down exhausted, and got ready for bed.
Harry remember the wise, reserved, and brave Ravenclaw girl. He remember the smile he had given her when they were in Sirius' home. Harry think he remembers her melting a bit. He remembers seeing Hermione growing up, from a bushy haired girl to an elegant princess. Harry remembered some sort of liking Hermione had might have taken in her. Harry remembered catching Hermione staring at him. He remembered the expression of joy when he asked her to the Yule Ball.
I wonder how she'll react to me as her fiance.
Harry managed to toss himself to sleep, wishing that he was marrying Cho. Dreams were absent during this night's sleep, but it was still difficult.
Mornings of preparations, afternoons of meetings, and evenings of outfits passed. All that was topped with Carling constantly pestering me on things, the people asking questions why I was going to be married on the Daily Prophet, and tons of other things happening at the same time. It was utterly exhausting.
I finally decided to use my black and white uniform, with a silver and blue medal sash across my chest, and using a cape. I heard that the plan was sent to King Ethan and Queen Sophia, and Hermione was going to wear light blue and silver instead of the traditional white.
"Why," Harry groaned, "Does this have to be so extravagant?"
"Harry, we are going to join the two kingdoms." Lily replied patiently every time. When the date crept closer and closer, Harry realized something important that he had never noticed before.
They were to get married during Christmas Eve.
How come I noticed this before?! Harry scolded himself, Ugh, now I have to go through a wedding on one of my favorite days of the year, but marriage is supposed to be happy. This will be the strangest year I will ever have in my entire life.
Soon, there was only full day until the evening I was to be married. To be more specific, I would have only have 32 hours left as a single man. For those hours I was awake, I felt fiddly, and I just couldn't keep myself from doing something that was active, whether it was Quidditch, running, sword-fighting, things like that. I kept trying to calm myself down, but couldn't. It brought too much anxiety.
"Harry, you should stop pacing!" Carling cried. Even her calming potions could help me. Or was that water? Anyways, I was too jittery to think straight. My day was pounded by harsh thoughts.
What if Hermione doesn't love me once we grow closer?
What if I love Hermione, and she breaks my heart?
What if we are forced to conceive an heir?
What if something goes wrong?
What if….
Thousands of questions were spiralling in my way was the clock ticked, counting down the minutes that I would need to marry the Princess of Ravenclaw.
"Harry dear?"
My mother came into the room, and she crossed the room to where I was standing.
"Mom, I'm not sure I'm ready for this." I confessed, "I feel too nervous."
Mother smiled kindly, "I had the same situation, but I was only a commoner during that time. When we were at school, I worked with James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter. Because we worked well together, I became an honorary Marauder, under the name of Tiger Lily. I also knew who they really were, but I was only a commer. Many girls were extremely jealous, and had many attempts to sabotage me. Each time, I had to deal with many things, each time, my wand was 'confisticated', and each time, the real Marauders always had a way out. It was really embarrassing, and James always laughed it off. From there, we stuck together whenever we could, and the time came that school ended. When we parted ways after school, I knew that I would be sad, because I would rarely have a chance to see my only friends. I knew that I should not think of myself of a higher rank, but as a person who was equal to the commoners…"
"Mom, so you were getting into trouble?" Harry interrupted.
"No, I drew up the plans. I never got in trouble, it was quite the fun." Mother answered, "Anyways, where was I?"
"After you needed to part after your school time." I prompted.
"Once we parted ways and James started his duties as a prince, it came a time where the crier announced that James will be marrying a mystery girl if she accepted. I knew we were only friends, but I had this pang of jealousy. I knew that James had truly loved her, and it was a plea, not an order. One week later, the announcement of who James would choose to be his wife came along. James spoke first, reciting an entire list about the good qualities of the woman he would like to marry. James called out three women, and one of them was me, the others were diplomats. James then asked the people who they would like to see the most. Most people voted for the diplomats, but when it was my turn, no one voted for me. James then sent each three of us strange looks. James then told two of us to sit down, and we each gave impromptu speeches on why we would make a good queen. The diplomats made very bad speeches, so it was my turn. James stopped me, and he announced that it was me who he wanted to marry all along. He said that it was just to show how the most common of people have the chance to do something."
"I don't really follow."
"How about I show you?"
I nodded, and my mother pulled out a stone Pensive from the cabinet. She drew her wand, and pulled out a memory strand, settling it in the liquid that was already floating inside. Mother smiled, and I was pulled forward.
*-*Entering Memories*-*
"Lily Evans, Maddie Cornhusk, and Alexis Kandra, please come up to the stage." my father's voice rang out. He looked just like me right now, about the same age.
Maddie Cornhusk had dirty blond hair and looked like she was from America, and Alexis Kandra had light brown hair and malicious deep brown eyes. They both wore fancy dresses and way too much makeup it hurt my eyes. My mother was wearing a simple shirt and a skirt, and had no makeup on.
"These three girls are three candidates for being the next queen of Gryffindor! Which one of you want Maddie?" Lots of cheering came.
"Alexis?" More cheering.
"Lily?" My mother's family cheered, and everyone looked at the like they were crazy. My father then asked the girls to sit down, and they gave speeches. Maddie's speech was more about how she will be a better queen, Alexis' was about how she will be the best ruler in the world, and my mother's speech was about how we could fix our flaws and create something better out of our bad experiences.
By the end of that, my father got a twinkle in his eyes, and he sent the diplomats down. My mother was called up, and she was terrified. My father then sent a smile in her direction, and once my mother reached him, he instantly took her hand.
"Citizens of Gryffindor, I have an announcement for you. Lily Evans was my choice for a wife since the start. When I first met her in my first year of Hogwarts, I was completely captivated. Lily is kind, gently, sweet, and caring, the best qualities for a queen." my father got down on one knee, "Lily, will you make the happiest man alive, and have to honor of being the next queen?"
I could see my mother blinking, and she said yes. Most of the crowd cheered, and my father slipped a small ring onto my mother's hand. He straightened, his arm casually around her waist, and pulled her into a kiss.
*-*Leaving Memories*-*
I rose out, and looked straight at my mother. She nodded, and I looked at the clock.
Only 31 hours until I was to get married.
"Harry, go do something alright? Go take a walk around the gardens."
My mother left the room, and I grabbed my broom. I made my way over to Ron, the twins, Sirius, Remus, Seamus, Dean, my father.
"Can we go play Quidditch? I want to burn some energy." I requested, and I explain how this game was going to work. There will be four on a team, with one seeker, one beater, one chaser, and one keeper. The rules were the same, but the seekers were supposed to catch a Snitch that was modified for reuse.
I was on a team with Ron, Fred, and Sirius. We got ready, and headed to the pitch. I then realized that i was going to play against Remus as the seeker. I heard about how Remus played, but it wasn't going to be fair.
We ended up playing Quidditch for six games, which was one by me: 4:2.
Once I came back inside, it was past the time for lunch. I cleaned up quickly, and realized there were only 29 hours until I was to be married at 6 P.M. I ate a quick lunch, and headed downstairs to help with the final touches of the ceremony.
"No, the pulpit has to…"
"Transform the hall into…"
"Large, silk covered tables…"
Conversations between the planners overlapped, and I stopped to see my mother fixing a plan. I looked over to see, and it was a seating arrangement. It was complicated, and I was glad to see the Cho wasn't there. I didn't want to hurt her as much as I already did.
More hours of preparations passed, and soon, there were only 24 hours left.
"Harry, go eat something, you can't be like this." my father ordered, and I nodded. I went to the kitchens, and a piece of bread magically floated to me. I devoured it, and headed to my room. Three hours of spell practice passed, and Christmas crept closer. By that time, I was brain-dead, and got ready for bed, crashing instantly.
The sounds of birds chirping woke me up, and butterflies in my stomach were worse than ever.
"Harry, hurry up!" Ron's voice went through the door, and I sat up, pulling myself together, putting on the uniform.
Hermione
"We should make the veil thinner." Carling suggested. She had come to visit us to help me with my dress, and things. It was utterly exhausting, having to constantly trying on dresses.
"But it's already thin enough!" I answered wearily.
"But Harry should be able to see you!" Carling put in.
"Fine." I allowed Carling to attach the veil to the tiara again, and made it thinner, then placing it on my head.
"Perfect!" Carling cried, and I finally got to remove all the makeup and things. It was refreshing, and I was half expecting my hair to poof out.
My hair had reduced the frizziness in my sixth year, but I was still not used to it. It had grown to be long and naturally curly. I flopped down on my bed exhausted, and ready to sleep.
My last night as a single woman, I better enjoy this.
I was thinking, and i realized Carling had left the room. The lights dimmed, and I though about the crush I had on Harry when I first saw him. Those green eyes, and the windswept black hair. I remember I used to dream about my first kiss, and it was from Harry. It was going to be true, but I didn't realize how much it meant to me. I remember the smile that he once gave me, and it still was an important part of me. I remember that I used to fantasize on us two being together, and how I dreamed about things from him, like kisses, hugs, and his muscular arms cradling me.
From these pleasant thoughts, I fell to a dream filled sleep.
"Hermione?"
I turned to see Harry standing near the door the the outside. We were in our seventh year, and I still had the lingering crush from years before. I fought down the blush that came in when I realized that he noticed me.
"What is it Harry?" I asked politely.
"Can we take a walk together on the grounds? I know we both have free periods." Harry requested. I felt a small tinge creep my cheeks, and it was hard to resist. I let it stay as I accepted his offer. Once we were outside, taking a walk near the lake, I think I caught a glimpse of a group of jealous girls.
"Can we stay here and talk? I wanted to talk to you alone without anyone watching."
"Of course we can." I answered immediately. I saw Harry draw a breath, formulating words on what to say. After a few long breaths, he started to say something, but his voice failed him. I held a laugh inside, and Harry finally found his voice.
"Hermione, there is something I need to tell you, but I need to cast some spells around us." Harry finally said, and he pulled out his wand, casting spells that allowed us to talk to each other without getting noticed, heard, or disturbed.
"What is it Harry?" I asked. The corner of his mouth twitched, as well as his hand.
"There's no other way to spell it out Hermione." Harry answered, and he suddenly lifted my chin, pulling me into a kiss. I caught my breath as my fingers (having a mind of it's own) laced into Harry's. I eventually relaxed has Harry planted small gentle kiss on my lips, his hands gently placed on my back, sometimes traveling to my hair, sometimes to my cheek. Harry suddenly broke away, and I felt a little disappointed. That was cured quickly when he brought me into a right hug. In the dream, this felt so… right, as well as how we matched each other.
"Hermione..."
I woke up, realizing that his dream might be an omen on what I was to be expecting. I sprang out of bed, and launched into my Christmas wedding.
So that is all for this chapter! I hope that you all enjoyed this! This is my first Harry Potter story, so please don't be so hard on me. This was really fun to write, only taking one hour! Please review, and I will see you guys next time!
