October 10, 1993.

To my son Naruto,

Welcome to the planet life. Your mother and I have created something very special and wonderful – you. We had a lot of help from God, and an unexplainable force called Love.

Love is everywhere around you and the one thing that will bring the most happiness to your life.

As the days go by, you will see and hear things that will sometimes make you believe this isn't true. What you must always remember my beautiful Naruto, is that much of the beauty and truth in life is not in what we see, but often in what we don't see – but believe.

For every tear, there are a hundred smiles. For every broken heart, there are a hundred new romances. For every homeless person, there are thousands in comfort and protection. For every cynical and angry thought, there is enough wisdom, to last through the ages. For every hungry child, there are many more, who are fed. For every fist that is thrown in hatred, there are a thousand baseballs thrown in joy. For every needle filled with heroin that goes into someone's arm, there are a thousand – life saving shots given to people, by people who care. For every orphan, there are ten thousand children with parents. And for every wrong, there are a million rights.

If anyone tells you, this isn't the greatest place in the Universe, you tell them to look for the things they can't see. Then say, I know about these things, because my father told me about them once in a letter. He said, they were things it took him a lifetime to learn.

If you find a tear on this page, it was shed with much happiness. I could not have written all these thoughts yesterday, because as true as they are, I couldn't see them, but today I know how beautiful this world is, because today you were born.

All My Love, Dad.

(Note: This is actually based on a letter that my grandfather (October 5, 1932 – July 23, 2007) wrote for me on the day I was born (May 11, 1994), and I know I'm a little too late for Father's Day, but I've always wanted to include this letter in one of my fanfics. I kind of changed the words a bit so I could replace my real name "Angelique," with Naruto's name. Oh, and about Naruto's birth year, I figured that he was born in 1993 because he said it in the episode of Naruto Shippuden where he meets his dad, Minato, for the first time during the Invasion Of Pain Arc. That episode came out on July 15, 2010, and at the time, Naruto was sixteen, and his birthday is October 10. Then again, I don't think Masashi Kishimoto (the creator of the "Naruto" series) says what years the characters were born, but I'm guessing that Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, Hinata, Kiba, Shino, Choji, Ino, Shikamaru and Gaara were all born in 1993. Lee, Neji and Tenten were born in 1992, Kankuro was born in 1991, and Temari was born in 1990. I originally wanted to submit this fanfic on Naruto's birthday, but then I thought that because yesterday was Father's Day, I should submit it now. Hope you enjoyed the story. P.S. If you're wondering where I got the title "I believe in you" from, that's something that Minato tells Naruto before he suppresses the Nine-Tailed Fox's seal on Naruto's stomach so he can have some of its chakra. Happy Late Father's Day, everyone! :D)
