Note: My first story ever I'm posting on reviews would be greatly appreciated. =)

Chapter 1
The First Breath

Marik woke up feeling cold metal against his skin.A shiver ran through him as the sense of sound returned to could hear others talking but he couldn't quite make out actual did not dare open his eyes for fear of what might happen. "What if...cannot...him?" a deep male voice said from above him.
"Don't...silly...we can." a female voice said sounding farther away than the was puzzled by what he slowly opened his eyes a crack.A large man stood over him a clipboard in his man appeared busy writing something his eyes farther,Marik was able to see the owner of the second was a small slender woman with fiery red hair and glasses. "Johnathan...attention...him...eyes...open." the red-haired woman said noticing his opened rushed through Marik's body as Johnathan looked Marik in the eyes.
Marik struggled to get up before he noticed the leather straps that held him. "What are you doing?" Marik croaked through a voice dry and cracked from lack of moisture and looked at Marik with apparent fear and astonishment.
"Don't just stand there you big brute!Do something!" the red-haired lady stared at Marik seemingly too astounded and afraid to do with a huge last effort broke free of the leather bounds that held quickly moved into a squating position watching the man and woman,memorizing every detail of sprung like a feral animal and burst through metal found himself in a long corridor but there was no time to think as the bang of the metal doors brought more people ran dodging past scientist and government officials as he went.
Jumping through a window,Marik made it outside into the deserted wasteland that the world had felt the familiar sensation he had attributed to his ability as he looked felt his limbs lengthen and his body contort as it became a heard the clatter of doors opening and took off into the wasn't just running blindly he was heading to his camp which he had fondly dubbed Shift.

P.S. I know this chapter is short but it's more like a prologue than a you enjoyed it.
