Dear diary,

For the many years ever since I could remember, I've always been obsessed with him. But now that I've realised it, it wasn't obsession. It was a true feeling. But how could I be sure of it? I'm confused and…scared. I'm afraid of rejection and I'm very afraid if he forgets me forever. I'm so scared. I'm very, very scared.

But not anymore; whenever I'm alone, whenever I feel sad, whenever I feel insecure, his arms will be around me. I'm not scared anymore.

Yamanaka Ino have been through a lot of surprises and shocks but the one thing she found out when she came home from a mission with her newly recruited team, she needed a pair of very, very, very thick earmuffs.

"Ino, I'll say this again and I'm proud to say it, Uzumaki Naruto is your adopted brother from now on!" Yamanaka Inoichi announced and the blonde boy who was sitting beside the man was smiling as hard as he could.

Ino looked at her father for a few seconds in disbelief. When her eyes brought her vision towards Naruto, Ino couldn't help it but gather all of her breath and screamed.

"THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

It was official. That night, Uzumaki Naruto was changed into Yamanaka Naruto. Despite the weirdness and awkwardness the name was, it couldn't be helped. It was written in ink and was taken to heart by Inoichi. Ino was bound to either accepting all of Naruto or accepting the fact he exists under her home.

Everything happened under Tsunade's orders. When the new 5th Hokage came into their lives, the first thing she found unsatisfying was Naruto's room. She grew very disgusted (and scared) of the mountains of instant ramen cups piling in every corners of his room and the fact that his clothes smelled as if he hasn't washed them for years. So, after a few days of thinking, Tsunade made Naruto one of the Yamanaka's due to similar hair colours.

But that was years ago. Ino came to accept Naruto in her family, reluctantly, and continue her life without any means to kill him, barely. Ino was accepted to the Interrogation team and assisted the Medical Corps in any way possible. She was a fully trained and skilled ninja in her years. But her brother was far ahead from her. Naruto was now an ANBU member and his skills were unpredictable. The one time Ino successfully mastered her Shintenshin technique, Naruto has learned a new and a very powerful Rasengan in the matter of days.

It was true that Naruto was amazing but Ino's envy was not going to run away. It may be true that Ino was not comparable with him, but she would do anything to be able to. Yet, the wish and dreams to surpass her younger brother were no where near reachable. But it was time for Ino to learn that anyone, even the almighty Naruto, has fears and weaknesses deep within them.

Ino woke up to the sound of continuous banging on her bedroom door and she knew well of the idiot waking her up. She jumped out of bed and opened the door slightly before slamming it back to its hinges. A male's voice was soon heard moaning in pain.

"Ino, you don't have to do that you know! Gosh!" Naruto wailed at his sister outside the door.

Ino smirked to herself, "Don't wake me up this early if you don't have any business with me, idiot!"

"But I need to talk to you!"

"About what?!"

"About interrogating Sasuke and his team!"

That caught Ino to her wits end. It was only yesterday when Uchiha Sasuke and his team, known as Taka, came to the village's entrance in admitting of defeat. It was shocking news for Konoha and most of Sasuke's past comrades, especially Naruto. Ino had to admit to herself, she had a big crush on Sasuke but after learning his new criminal record, she lost interest in him and in fact, she lost hope in him.

Naruto was very concerned about his friend and begged Ino to interrogate Sasuke personally since Naruto trusted Ino to not do anything to hurt him more than he was. So, it was a one-time deal with her brother since Naruto was going to take Ino's place in taking Chouji out for barbeque for the entire month. Ino was fond of Naruto, who was willing to spend all of his savings for that jerk who left Konoha for his own satisfactory. Ino had to say it out loud to her self that Sasuke was a total ass even if he did grew more muscular and hotter in the years.

"Hey Ino, you hear me?" Naruto cut Ino off her thoughts.

"Oh, uh…sorry, I didn't catch you. What did you say?"

"I'm telling you to play it easy on Sasuke, okay? He's already hurt and regretting about his misunderstanding towards his late brother so just put the harsh mind torturing technique aside for now, please? I'm begging you, sis."

Ino was taken aback. Every time Naruto called her 'sis', her heart ached. She always wanted for a younger sibling to acknowledge her. Even if Naruto had never crossed her mind, he was still cute when he said that.

Ino rustled Naruto's shining golden bed hair and smiled, "Don't worry about it. My savings are already saved so what the heck?"

Naruto flashed his bright smile, "Thanks Ino! Although you are a pain in the ass, but you're still the best sister in the world-."

"Get out of here before I kill you, Naruto!" Ino grinded her teeth and clenched her fists as Naruto ran down the stairs.

Ino cursed once before smirking, "That idiot."

Ino washed up with a warm shower before putting on her regular violet outfit and tying up her long blonde hair. She might be the only interrogator allowed to wear anything other than the colour grey although she had to put on the grey jacket afterwards. She put on her medical pouch and strapped her shuriken holster around her right thigh before jumping out her bedroom window. She had a deal and promise to keep and an old friend to meet today.

"I just hope Naruto won't sneak out my savings for his treat for Chouji!"

The first chapter is out! Finally... I've been working on this ever since The Cold & The Crystallized was out... So, I thought that before I officially finish that story, Escaping Fear should have its chance to be realised...

Okay, so I'll be frank, this story mainly focuses on how Sasuke develop feelings for Ino but Naruto was torn to the fact that he would lose his new family member. Sakura comes in here and there as a spice for the triangle which turns into a rectangle soon. Oh, Suigetsu, Karin and Jugo of Taka would be in this story too! I just thought that maybe Sakura won't be the bitch in this story but it's Karin's turn.. Mwuahahaaa!!

This won't be a mere 2 chapter story... I'll put more effort into this than what I've resulted in my previous masterpiece... Oh, and Sasuke is not all nice unlike the last story... He will keep his hotness and cold attitude but not to mention his highly seductive kindness...
