Ch 1
The Beginning
(This Mr. Freeze is The Batman 2004 version)
Robin clattered to the ground in a heap, the cold beginning to weaken him. Batgirl flew past him, and into a nearby wall, crumpling to the ground in the same fashion as Robin. Batman struggled against the ice that had found a home on him.
"Give it up already," the chilling voice rumbled," and maybe this could all prove pointless." The perpetrator stepped into full view, his metal suit clanging on the ground, his red eyes gleaming, and the ice that encrusted his head glinting.
"We're not ones to give up Frosty," Batgirl said weakly.
"Charming, you're a regular comedian, you could have done stand up," Mr. Freeze sneered menacingly, his sinister red eyes narrowing," it is a pity; you could have survived to see a possibly bright future." He held up the hand that wasn't holding the stolen diamonds, and in a flash of blue light, Batgirl was frozen.
"Who's next on my list?" Freeze chilled," how about I unmask the man that has been causing me so much trouble." He walked calmly over Batman, and his hand loomed over the hood. With what energy he had left, Robin through one of his boomerangs, slashing Freeze's hand. The icy villain turned and glared at Robin.
"Or maybe I'll freeze you over instead," he hissed, holding up his hand, and it began to glow the cold shade of blue. Suddenly a Batarang soared through the air, hitting Mr. Freeze in the back of the head, breaking his ice helmet, revealing his face, and knocking him unconscious. Robin looked up to see Batman standing there, free from the ice.
"Great timing," Robin said with a smile, but the Dark Knight just slowly walked over to Batgirl, took out his warming gear, and set it down next to her.
"What?" Robin questioned, slowly standing up.
"You were reckless again," Batman said coldly," you made the mistake of rushing to Freeze the moment you saw him."
"It won't happen again," Robin responded.
"You said that after you pushed the Joker off his balloon when he had the antidote to his poison, and he intoxicated Barbara," Batman responded in turn.
"I didn't know at that time," Robin exclaimed, but Batman was helping Barbara get up weakly, suddenly sirens and lights were heard and seen.
"That's our queue," Batman said quickly and he and Batgirl began to run, but Robin stayed.
"Dick, what are you waiting for?" Batgirl asked quickly.
"Come on," Batman said, and Robin turned to him.
"No," he said smoothly, and then he split in the other direction.
"Dick wait," Batgirl started to go after him, but Batman caught her.
"No, let him go," Batman said.
Suddenly Freeze stood up, staring at the two heroes, he saluted them.
"For now," he said icily, before vanishing in a flash of cold blue light. Robin stood staring at the ceiling as the memory came to a close.
"So that is how it all began," he said. He would never forget the day Batman turned his back on him, Mr. Freeze might have lost the fight, but he one the battle, that was the end of the war with him. Freeze never showed up since then.
Not to far away, water was beginning to freeze over. Metal boots walked over them, and the tall figure stood staring at the Titan Tower.
"We will meet again soon Robin, so soon," the icy criminal hissed," and my revenge will be complete."
