I got the inspiration after hearing Taylor Swift's new song, Forever and Always. This isn't that long, really short actually, but I just wanted to give you guys something. I hope you like this one shot and hopefully it isn't deleted! I'm going to use Joe, as Shane Gray, So technically, this is legal.

Taylor Sweeft sat on her bed, dangling her feet off the side as she flipped the next page of the book. She was smiling at the text of the book, when her phone went off. She reached over and grabbed it, holding it in her hand, her other still holding the book.

"Hello?" she sang into the phone, turning onto her stomach and kicking her feet in the air. She put her book mark in her book and folded it shut, setting it on the bed-side table. The thunder erupted from outside, rain pelting the roof of her big house. She looked out the window and sighed. She hated the rain.

"Hey," a soft voice said into her ear. She smiled and closed her eyes, feeling her heart leap at the sound of his velvet voice. He hadn't called in a while and she was happy to hear from him.

"Hey, baby," she said, twirling her blonde hair in between her fingers, "what's up?"

"Um, Tay, I need to talk to you about something," his voice trailed off, nervousness evident. She frowned and furrowed her eyebrows, freezing her hand that was still in her hair.

"What's the matter?" she asked confused. He sighed on the other line.

"I'm sorry Tay, but I don't think it's working out." Her heart dropped at those 6 simple words.

I don't think it's working out…

It echoed through her head as she tried to grasp them, not believing what he said. She was heartbroken. She loved him, and had been going out with him for a long time now. Why would he just end it? She felt tears well up in her eyes, but she tried not to cry. It started to rain harder outside, lightning flashing and the faint sound of thunder hit her ears. She drew in a shaky breath, trying to settle her heart.

"Wh-what?"

"It…it just isn't. I'm sorry. I do care for you, a lot, but I can't do this right now. I need to focus on my career and it's hard to keep a relationship with us being on tour all the time…" he stuttered into the phone.

She let out a sob, "bu-but what a-about forever and always?"

"Look, I just need some time, alright?"

"I - ," she was cut off.

"I need to go, Tay. I'm sorry. Maybe I'll see you later sometime?" he asked hopefully. She let out a sob-filled laugh.

Yeah, right.

"Sure, maybe sometime…" then the dial tone rung in her ear. She looked at the phone. 27 seconds.

She rolled in a ball on her bed and put her face in the corner of her elbow, trying to muffle the cries admitting from her body. Outside, the rain cried with her, howling through the tears like the sobs that were coming from her.

Sure, forever and always…
