Stalker Squad

"Help," Harry hissed, glaring when George laughed at him. "One of the stalker squad is here, George!"

His lips tilting up in a smirk, George shrugged. "Sorry, Harrykins, not really my problem, is it?"

"It will be when one of them murders me," Harry replied quietly, as the woman caught sight of him. He saw the way her eyes lit up and barely repressed a groan.

Knowing it would be rude to run into the backroom of the shop now that she'd seen him, Harry surrendered to the knowledge that he would have to deal with her.

"Harry, dear, I've been looking for you," she cried happily, when she neared him. She leaned close to him, looking to kiss him, but he turned his head quickly so her lips hit his cheeks.

Harry heard George's quiet snort behind him, and repressed the urge to throw something at him.

"When are you going to admit we'd be brilliant together, Harry?" the woman was saying. Harry wondered what part of the conversation he'd missed.

"Erm, well, Sally, you see -"

An arm slid around his shoulders, and suddenly George was there with a charming smile as he held out his free hand to the woman.

"Harry, who is this lovely lady?" he asked.

"Ah, George, meet Sally. Sally, George, my -"

"Boyfriend," George interrupted. "Harry is so shy about admitting that we're together, I'm sure you understand, what with the press hounding him so much and all."

"We're supposed to be keeping it quiet, George," Harry murmured, playing the part. He would owe George huge for this later, he knew.

"Ahh, I'm sure we can trust Sally here," George replied jovially. "How do you two know each other?"

Sally was bright red, stuttering over running into one another frequently at the Ministry, when Harry smiled. "We probably shouldn't keep Sally, George. She was just saying she had a busy day today."

Sally nodded promptly, offering Harry a grateful smile, even as her embarrassment seemed to double. "That's right I was. Harry, it was good to see you. George, nice to meet you. I should, um, I should just…"

She trailed off, walking away as quickly as she could without running.

"Thank you," Harry breathed out, as George removed his arm.

"That was fun," George grinned. "We should do it again sometime."

Harry grinned. "I hope you know you just signed up to be my date to all functions for the foreseeable future."

He didn't see the way George's eyes softened as he wandered away. Didn't hear the quiet reply of, "Whenever you need me, Harry."

He didn't see the pain in George's eyes when he thought that the fake would never become reality.
