Naruto was walking to the ramen shop for dinner passing the gate, the guards were changing their positions and he gazed out the gate at the cold shadowed night. Hearing an odd sound, like a whistle of someone jumping off a cliff in the old cartoons he had watched with Iruka-sensei as a kid. He glanced up in time to see someone falling through the air above him.

They both collapsed in a crumpled heap on the dusty ground moans of pain cascading from the two.

"What the hell!" Naruto muffled face pinned into the ground he realized something was trapping him there, he flipped his head over and was met with a snake in his face.

His scream of shock echoed off the walls around him and startled many villagers going on their way to where they need to be. The figure on top of him stirred slowly letting Naruto see that it was a girl with long blonde hair twisted into a tight braid.

"Ouch, my head… when I get my hands on Him he's going to ..." the girl stopped mid growl finally looking around. "Where ...where am I? Sly up date, sly?" she called, she glanced to the snake then me her eyes went wide and she flew off of me "What are you doing here? Where am I?" As she rambled on about how this was bad and she could mess up the order of things blah, blah, blah, I grabbed the snake and started to walk to the woods, I felt a hand clamp tightly around my neck, turning around there she was eyes blazing.

"Just what, do u think you're doing?" she snarled anger rolling off every surface of her body.

"I'm taking the snake out of the village before it hurts someone." I stated nonchalantly, she reached over and plucked him from my grip, her glare increasing tenfold.

"He's not wild he's my friend." She stated in a wrath filled voice as the snake tied around her arm trailing up to her neck.

After the shock wore off I realized something "You're an intruder, you could be an enemy, only if the Hokage said its ok can you be here." I watched as she simmered down slowly.

"Fine then, tell me where this Hokage is, I'll ask them if I can stay." she said rolling her eyes.

"Uumm I don't know you might kill the old man, and I don't even know your name." I say wondering out load.

"Fine you can hold sly, hurt him if I attack, alright?" she said handing me the snake carefully.

"Why in the world, would me having this snake stop you?"

"Because I never betray my friends and sly is my best friend." she said looking me straight in the eyes. "And as for my name, it's violet"

She turned putting her hands behind her head and started walking. "Well, you showing me the way or not?"

"Umm ok, by the way I'm Naruto. " I said running ahead of her easily.

Violet

I felt eyes dig into the back of my head yet I didn't turn around, I knew it was Naruto, who knew a little squirt like him could be so irritating?

"Turn here and go in" he said ticked that I got in front of him again, directing me to the Hokage tower even though I already knew where it was, I couldn't let them know that.

"Hey are you ok?" Naruto looked over at me eyes showing curiosity running rampant through his head.

"Huh? Yah why." Answering narrowing my cobalt eyes at him.

"Well your eyes glazed over." he indicated, like he didn't just meet me minutes before, I was slightly stunned no one had talked to me like that since...Brook.

FLASHBACK

"BROOK, Brook?" The scream tearing from my throat, feet slamming the ground franticly as I ran toward my best friend "Are you ok? He threw you pretty hard but he's gone now." She didn't talk she just looked down at the wet oily concrete. "I'll heal you up and we can go home ok?" I pushed smiling warmly down at her, I couldn't do this without her, I started to heal her with my power, you see I'm different I use my energy to heal, fly, run fast or anything I can think of.

When I was finished she looked up at me and I smiled again until I noticed her look of true fear showing threw her walls

"Violet I...I can't do this anymore… I'll keep your secrete." She stood slowly her feet wobbling under her. "I promise but I d-don't want to see you again.. I just c-can't risk this anymore."

Then she ripped off the necklace that I had made her and tore her way down the darkened street. Then it hit me like a bullet train…sly was all I had left, I felt my knees buckle under me, the concrete scraping and bruising them as I fell into a despair I didn't know if I could claw my way out of.

END FLASHBACK

"HHEELLLLOO!" yelled Naruto-kun flapping his hand in front of my face.

"Just thinking, now let's get this over with." I clapped my hands together trying to get rid of the memory and not giving him a chance to talk about it, sighing as I open the door.

"Hm oh Naruto who's this?" Asked an old man staring over his glasses at me, probably seeing if I was a threat.

"This is violet she wants to stay here" Naruto answered tersely.

"Do you have money for a house?" he asked eyeing my bag less form.

"No but I'm willing to make a deal I..." I was cut off by Naruto as he yelled restlessly

"Hey old man can I go I'm supposed to go eat ramen with Iruka-sensei."

"Hm?" Hokage-san sighed "yes Naruto you're ex..." He didn't even get to finish his sentence before Naruto was out of the room.

"That kid must be a handle he's a ninja right or training to be one?" I asked off-handedly the hokage looked at me and ask how I knew such information.

"He mentioned it on the way here." I stated shrugging "anyway he must be hard to keep in class, he reminds me of a two year old golden retriever…" I turned back to the old man eye going to his "Like I was saying I will do anything, I have nowhere else to go also I would like to become a ninja if possible."

I saw a glint in the Hokage's eyes meaning an idea and I didn't think I was going to like a bit, before he had a chance to say anything Naruto came barging back in and went straight up to me.

"Here's your snake back; I think I can trust you." he flashed a toothy grin and left again, with sly safely by my side. As I turned back to the Hokage I thought I was ready for anything the hokage was about to throw at me… I thought.

"I have a perfect Idea of how to get you into the village and in the academe at your age level for free, yet you must try your best to catch up and learn the basics, you also have to...

Violet outside Hokage building

'How could he do this sly? I mean this is just cruel, baby sit… that's what he technically told me to do baby sit that little blond haired brat!"

"Watch it violet before you say something you will regret" thought sly while tingled on my arm.

(A/N: Yes she can hear thoughts but only if she taps into them she doesn't do it to anyone but sly ...much. what you thought I would let sly be silent "pfh yah right")

"Yah I know, I know but baby sit Naruto why? Why me?" I think unlocking my new apartment, the academy doesn't have lesions tomorrow so the hokage said he would send someone with money and time to help me get the things I need.

Tonight I had to deal with what I had, I let sly out the windowto slither down to hunt. We have an agreement if I can't give him food he gets his own and since I had no food or money I let him go, he'd come back when he was done. For now I wasn't hungry just confused I went to bed thinking about what happened to make me come here, yet it was darkness, like when you come to the end of an old film real, it was erased.

As I dreamt It was a brew of solid memory and wistful dream, I saw Brook, she was running away, I saw a flying blood red Pegasus but as I was about to climbed up to catch Brook to stop her from leaving me a pounding knocked me off to fall through the darkness. I awoke to a knock on my door, the dream melting away like ice in the morning in.

"Eehhh" was all I said to sly who had slithered his way to me; I had fallen asleep in my clothes.

(Not like I had anything else to ware.)

So I let the door fling open startling the blue haired girl standing on the other side, I already knew who it was by the look of her face, her white eyes where a dead giveaway. I still asked her name for good measure, slouching on the door way and looked down at her because she apparently was smaller than I am.

"Who are you and what can I help you with?" I asked softly to get her to calm down some.

"U-um I'm ...Hinata-a Hyuga and t-the hokage s-sent me to he-help you get your supplies to-day." she answered stuttering, I smiled turning to get a brush, brushing my hair out and put it back in my braid when two piece of my bangs came undone. I just walk over to the mirror where Hinata couldn't see and made them red streaks humming in contentment at the look.

"Ok Hinata lets go" I stood at the doorway and snapped my head back. "Oh sly come too you need to pick out your dinner" I called and Hinata looked at me confusion clear on her face.

"I-I thought y-you were the only one living here?" she knocked her head down slightly and it made her look so cute.

"No I'm the only human living here this" I said holding sly up so she could see him" is sly my snake and best friend."

"O-oh wow h-he's very cool...umm" She got nervous; I realized quickly I hadn't told her my name I smiled.

"Violet"

"O-oh then he's very cool Violet-Chan may I hold him?" she asked holding her hands out steadily.

"Of course "I answered handing sly to her, he slid on to her hand, up her arm and around her neck like he does with me and we headed out as I assured her he won't hurt her.
