Never before had Gabriella Montez had her life so perefect.
(Gabriella walking with friends.
Hugging Troy.
Singing in the play.
Receiving an A+ on a test.)
Until the day her mother hit her with the news that would change the rest of her life.
Her mom: "Honey, we need to talk."
Gabriella: "Later, Mom. I'm going to a movie."
Her mom:"We're moving."
Gabriella: "WHAT?"
She had no control over what was going to happen.
(Her talking to Troy…)
Gabriella: "I feel so safe here…I never wanna leave."
Troy: "Don't worry, you won't."
But she wasn't going to leave.
(Tears on her face, to her mom)
Gabriella: "You can't make me move! You can't ruin my life again!"
Her mom: "I don't have a choice!"
She was going to do whatever it took.
(To Taylor)
Gabriella: "We're smart, we'll figure this out!"
Taylor: "You're right…we have to go straight to your mom's boss...but how?"
(pause)
Gabriella: "Let me rephrase…you're smart."
With help from her friends, anything was possible.
(Taylor and Gabriella in fake beards and in suits talking to the boss in deep voices)
Taylor: "Well, sir…dude…man…fellow guy person…."
Gabriella: (smacks head)
Never before had she had to do something this risky…
Troy: "You know, you're like a rebel now…"
Gabriella: "You're right…but I need a better idea…that may include some more risk."
Troy: 'What are you gonna do?"
Or something that broke all the rules..
Gabriella: "I need you're help."
Sharpay: "Hmm, Gabriella Montez, this is certainly a surprise."
(Gabriella smiles)
And new friends will be made along the way.
(At a computer)
Gabriella: "You know, if I end up staying, we might even be friends…"
Sharpay: (looks surprised) "I know you're staying…my mad brain skills have a plan."
(Walks over to the printer)
Sharpay: "I was thinking-"
(Runs into a chair and falls)
Sharpay: "…That maybe I'll just stick with being pretty…"
And the end will definitely surprise you.
Gabriella: "Sharpay, you're not so mean."
Sharpay: "You're not such a nerd."
Gabriella: "Really?"
Sharpay: "No."
(they smile and laugh)
