The Phoenix
Chapter 1
Beep… beep…beep…beep…beep…
I lifted my hand and hit the snooze button on my alarm. I laid in bed for a couple more minutes.
"Layla time for school!" my mom yelled up the stairs. I got up and got ready for school. I ran down the stairs and grabbed my bag.
" morning mom" I said " morning sweaty." She said. I grabbed a piece of toast and sat down at the table." Mom have you heard from dad?" I asked knowing the answer would be no. She turned and looked at me." you know I haven't" she said.
"I know mom." I said.
My dad is really busy so I don't get to talk to him a lot, but he's not the person you think he is. You probably think he's one of those dads that are always working and never come home. Well he's not. My dad is one of the worst villains in the Light. My dad is Deathstroke and I'm his death daughter. Most people think I only have one power, to control fire, but I don't. I have the power of a demon. When I turn into the demon part of me everything two feet away from me can die and I destroy everything in my path, so I'm really dangerous I'm half demon and half phoenix even though I look human. The phoenix part is from my mom. She has the ability to control and turn into fire. I know my family is messed up.
On my way to school I see a Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn robbing a bank which is strange because Harleys with the joker. I see batman and superman fighting them through the glass window. Then one of Ivy's plants put a green gas into the air that makes both batman and superman drop onto the ground. I know I'm going to regret this later but I grabbed my mask from my bag and put it on. I ran into the bank and saw that Harley was in the back getting the money. I found Ivy moving the hero's where the hostages are.
"Leave them alone." I said to Ivy. She turned around surprised but then relaxed.
"What do you want kid. Why don't you leave before you get hurt." She said
"How about no." I said smirking. I lite a ball of fire in my hands and started throwing them at her. She only dodged a couple then tried to grab me with her vines. I dodged all of them then took out my knife from my bag and sliced them.
"My babies" she cried. She then tried to set off some more knock out gas but I shoved the plant in her face and it knocked her out. I then walked over to batman and superman and started to shake them awake.
"What happened?" superman asked.
"I knocked out Ivy but Harley got away." I told him. He looked at me surprised then both of them looked at each other for a moment.
"How would you like to join the team." He asked me. I was shocked but I covered it up quickly." I would love to." I said knowing that I would get in a heap of trouble when I see my dad.
"Come with us so you can get cleaned up and meet the team." Batman said then started to walk out of the destroyed bank.
"Wait, what about school?" I asked. He stopped and turned around.
"we'll deal with it." He said and continued walking so I followed. When I got outside I saw the batmobile."Get in." he said. I opened the door and got in.
When we got to Mount justice we took the zeta tube to get in. when I got in there was a group of teenagers standing there looking at us.
"Team this is your new member." Batman said. Then they all looked over at me.
"Hi I'm M'gann M'orzz but you can call me Megan" said a girl with green skin. Then the rest came up to me
" hey I'm Airtimes." A girl with blond hair said." Hey beautiful, I'm kid flash but you can call me wally" said a boy with red hair." I'm kaldur'ahm." Said a boy dark skin. "I'm Zantana." A girl with black hair said." I'm Raquel." A dark skinned girl said." im robin." The last person said." hi I'm Layla." I said." Welcome to the team." Kaldur said
