Mrs. Jones was worried. Allen Blunt had just summoned her to his office about a problem with Alex. If he had been shot again she was going to hurt something (or someone).
Mr. Blunt looked up at her as she opened the office door. If he were possible of expressing emotions she may have said he looked upset, but she knew better.
"Good afternoon Mrs. Jones. One of our agents has found something disturbing during a routine surveillance sweep. This was located in Alex Rider's bedroom under the mattress."
He slid a spiral-bound notebook over the desk towards Mrs. Jones, who raised her eyebrows at the doodles of a dragon eating screaming stick people.
"I've marked the page of interest," Mr. Blunt said impatiently.
Vaguely wondering what was going on, Mrs. Jones opened to the indicated page. There was a date at the top set a few weeks before Ian Rider's demise.. Written across the top of the page in big block letters was 'Plans For World Domination.' Underneath that were what appeared to be several ideas on how to attain dictatorship of the world. The plans were labeled A through Q and ranged to everything from asking nicely to blowing up the sun.
"I fail to see what is so interesting about this. Every child dreams of world domination at one point or another," Mrs. Jones said.
"Look at Plan D," Mr. Blunt replied.
Mrs. Jones did so, and felt a slight tinge of worry. Plan D had a star next to it and was called 'Domination Through Intelligence.' The key points were listed below it, involving aiding several well-known intelligence agencies, such as MI6 and CIA, in various missions to gain their trust, all the while building up his contacts in he criminal underworld. He would continue to perform missions until his criminal support base was strong enough to strike down leading governments, starting with the intelligence agencies.
Mrs. Jones looked up and across the desk at Mr. Blunt. "Oh dear."
