Hermione and Harry stayed like that, as the sun fell from the sky dipping into the valley between the two flower and grass covered hills. She listened to his heart beat as he ran his fingers slowly through her hair, each time humming her name softly. As darkness fell around them he smiled softly and rested his hand on her shoulder. He mumbled something softly in her ear and she looked up surprised. They both sat up slowly, his hand slid down to her lower back.
"You care about Ginny Harry; you two are perfect for each other that is how all of this is supposed to be." Harry smiled down at her and pulled her into his lap. She shook her head fast and tried to pull away. But when she looked up Hermione stopped. "Harry…"
"Maybe to everyone else it seems like I should be with her and hell if you go by looks I should be with her. But we both know that it is you I truly care about. Ginny is an amazing girl but she is not the one for me. You complete my messed up self, you are organized and I am chaos. Do not try to deny it because I have seen how you look at me when Ginny is not around. Step outside your comfort zone just this once, for me." Hermione stared up at him in utter amazement, thinking how she did not look at him in any special way.
"I have absolutely no idea at all of what you are speaking about. There must be a disconnect here." With those words lingering between them Hermione stood up and started to saunter off towards where she parked the junk heap called a car. Before she got more then five steps away Harry leaped up and pulled her back too him. She was too stunned to stop him even as he slowly bent down and placed his lips on hers. Every thought of how kissing was just another spot for skin to touch and that kisses meant nothing flew out of Hermione's mind. Thoughtlessly she wrapped her arms around his neck and moved closer to his body as though she was magnetically drawn to him. Time slipped by as the stood there her in his arms breaking every rule she ever had made for herself. The only time they would break apart was to breathe.
"Risks are good, yes? Hermione?" Harry mumbled these words against her lips. With a start her head shot back as she looked him in the eyes. Suddenly she bolted racing up the hill, in utter desperation to get away. As she reached the top of the hill Hermione looked back at Harry and tried to catch her own breath. He stared up at her with confusion and hurt plain as day in his eyes. Though she felt so much for him this could never be. This was in fact her friend's boyfriend and her boyfriend's best friend.
