Hey guys, it's July 1st (again) and so here is my special Canada day story (again ;)
Narrator's POV
Ichigo was sitting on a park bench. Sitting with Masaya of course, hence why she was happy. Ryou had, for once, been nice, and had given her a day off from work. She sighed contentedly, everything was perfect… And then of course her perfect moment was ruined…
"Hey Kitten!" Called a familiar voice. Make that, an annoyingly familiar.
"Kish," She said, eyes narrowed, "what are you doing here?"
"Fulfilling a promise." He replied vaguely.
"Hey, it's that alien!" Masaya said, Kish glared at him , "Yes, it's 'that alien'. Anyway, I' m not here to play games…"
"Isn' t that what you're always around me for?" She asked dryly.
"Um… uhh… urk…. Well… THIS time I'm not!" He exclaimed. Then he picked her up and teleported away. Almost immediately her teeth were chattering.
"IT'S FREAKING COLD!" She exclaimed, "What and where is this?" she demanded.
Kish was grinning, "It's Canada! Remember the promise I made to you a year ago?" Ichigo stared at him blankly, "If I say 'no' will you return me?"
"Probably not…" He told her, she hit him, "Hey! What was that for!"
"For kidnapping me!" Ichigo yelled.
"I'm NOT! You said, and I quote, 'I wanna do that again next year', and I said 'Okay, it's a promise'… and then you fell asleep." Kish told her in his defense.
"I don't remember what the heck you're talking about!" She said exasperatedly.
"I'm taking you for this!" Kish grabbed her head and tilted it to the sky, just in time to see an explosion of light blossom in the sky with a bang. Ichigo stared transfixed, "Oh yeah… the fireworks for… um?"
"Canada day," he supplied, "I knew you'd like it."
"Oh yeah, yeah, rub it in…" She said, staring at the night sly.
"So… do I get a kiss this time?" He asked cheekily.
"No," She told him, "but I'll give you a hug." She said.
"Deal!" He grabbed her in an embrace and hugged her tight.
"Ahh…" she sighed, "You're warm…"
"And you're hot." He replied, still holding her.
"Baka."
"But you love me anyway." He said, she shrugged, "Let's just watch the lights, okay?"
"Alright, but first…" Kish disappeared for a moment and Ichigo felt scared, hoping after a few long minutes that he would return. Which he did, with a pink fluffy cloud in hand. He gave it to her, "Cotton candy!" He exclaimed. She smiled at him, and the two sat down to watch the fireworks.
Long after it was over, and the night had turned to stars, the two returned to Tokyo, Kish dropping her off at his house, "So, wanna do it again next year?" He asked with a grin, she smiled back at him, "Why not? After all, I think I like this Canada day thing with you." Kish grinned and wished her goodnight. As he returned to the ship, and to his room,completely ignoring Pai and Tart he smiled and said.
"Ichigo forgot you for me, so eat your heart out Masaya!" He said, flopping down on his bed, "And now," he whispered to the dark emptiness of the room, though he still felt like Ichigo was in his arms, "we have a tradition together, a permanent date… Nothing could be better right now." And with that he fell asleep.
Yeah, it's short, but it's a one shot special.. anyways, I really hope you all enjoyed it, and Happy Canada Day everyone!
