The Problems of Being Queen

As long as I sit here and ignore them they don't exist, okay? But that won't work because they won't leave me alone. Can a queen ever get a moment to herself? Don't get me wrong, I wanted to be queen, I still like it even now.
Everyone deserves some time alone though! For goodness sakes, I do not need my clones to be with me in the fresher!
Good, I'm alone—for the moment. How I am going to last the rest of my term as queen is anyone's guess. I had never even thought of the "handmaiden problem" before I was elected; it's the one they forget to warn you about.
Just a moment, they're back again. Kill me now, please!

Lovely, there's a new one.

Maybe I could run away to the royal retreat in the countryside? Nice place you know, waterfalls, lakes, hills.
Oh, well, it was a nice thought. Pity I'd never get two feet outside the room alone.

Quit that! Really, you do not need to fuss with my hair anymore. Simplicity is what I want, not being so made-up my own mother wouldn't recognize me! Though, under all this make-up no one should be able to tell the difference between me and my handmaidens, that is the whole point, isn't it? Unfortunately, I do understand the need for all this.
Very reluctantly I push all of my irritation out of my head. What I can't change I have to learn to deal with.
You know, I guess I should learn their names now, since I'm stuck with them. Zabé, Irritataé, Yawnie, Sasha, and Raba…oops sorry, its Sabé, Eritaé, Ya, Saché and Rabé.
