AN: This is set in the manga during volume 4. Just a little exploration of what Integral may have been thinking about and how she came to offer Seras some of her blood.
Disclaimer: I do not own Hellsing - I just enjoy writing about the characters way too much
The new addition to Hellsing was somewhat of an enigma to Integral Hellsing. A vampire who didn't want to drink blood? How ridiculous is that? She thought it was probably Alucard's fault. He probably never even told her what she was getting herself into when he made her choose. She obviously never had any previous experience with the supernatural, although she had her share of tragedies. Integral wondered if there was anything she could do to help. She never usually got involved with her subordinates but Seras presented herself as a special case. Her own servant was responsible for the girl's troubles and yet he wasn't even teaching her how to be a proper vampire. How can she ever be an effective vampire if she won't even drink donated blood?
"Integral, would you like a cup of tea now or do you want to wait until after you call the Vatican?" Walter asked as he entered her office.
"Not now, Walter. I was wondering…if you could tell me about the new vampire, Seras Victoria. Is it true? Is she not drinking the blood you deliver to her room?"
"Unfortunately it is true. I think she's trying to hold on to her humanity by refusing to drink blood. What's even worst is she asks the kitchen staff to prepare normal food. Of course when she eats it, she gets sick. It has been a rather painful experience to witness."
"Oh, it does indeed sound quite painful. I wonder why she puts herself through such an ordeal. It would be so much easier to just drink the blood."
"It may be the result of her surrvival of the traumas in her past. Somehow, a part of the girl has remained untouched – even after all that she has witnessed. Many people would become hard, vengeful, and bitter. Yet, Seras has managed to maintain some of her innocence by holding onto something inside of herself. I think it is precisely this part that refuses to surrender her humanity, Sir Integral."
"You may be right, Walter. It just seems a shame how she makes herself suffer even more."
"Yes, Sir Integral, I agree wholeheartedly with you. What about your tea?"
"Bring it in about an hour. I have something I need to do."
Her mind was made up. Integral knew she had to do something for Seras – to make her realize just what she was. The Hellsing leader knew she had to tempt the girl with something she couldn't refuse - her own, fresh, warm, sweet, virgin blood. If Seras would just taste fresh human blood once, then drinking the packets wouldn't seem so bad. And if that didn't work, she'd order the vampire to drink a few drops herself.
Integral walked into the Police Girl's room and saw her trying to eat "human" food yet again. She would have to talk to the kitchen staff about this whole matter. They were as idiotic as the vampire herself.
"Is it painful, Seras? It must be." Integral inquired as she picked up a knife from the table. She couldn't help but smirk as the thought of offering the police girl blood crossed her mind.
