"I'm not crazy," Cloud says, bright blue eyes open wide, pale body shaking.
'I know,' Leon mouths, gray eyes sad, hands at his side as he watches his lover.
"I'm not crazy," Cloud repeats, rocking back and forth, staring at Leon. "Tell them, please Leon, tell them I'm not crazy."
Leon shakes his head, though a slight smile is on his face – the smile that is just for Cloud, that makes everything alright. He places a hand on Cloud's shoulder, and mouths 'I love you.'
"I love you too, Leon, oh gods, I love you." Cloud says, smiling up at him, but he's still shaking and a sound outside the room makes him turn his head. The smile vanishes. "I'm not crazy, I'm not, leave me alone I'mnotcrazyI'mnotI'mnotI'mnot!"
Leon kisses his forehead, kisses his face, his shoulders, kisses everything he can reach, and Cloud's hyperventilating slows. "I'm. Not. Crazy," he says again.
'I know.' Leon smiles and leads Cloud to his bed, lying with him, smoothing his hair and comforting him.
Outside the room, Aerith sighs and turns to join up with the others down the hall. If they hurry, they can make it to the cemetery before it starts to rain and Cid complains about wasting fuel.
No one tells Cloud that Leon's been dead for the past five years. He'd just tell them they were crazy.
