Iruka ran a tan hand through his hair and took a sip of his cheap instant coffee before reading over the new report that had been left in front of him.

"Long day Iruka?" a voice said above him.

"Hey Genma. Yeah, it's been busy." The Chuunin replied wearily, obvious bags under his eyes.

"Iruka, you don't look so good. Are you sick?"

"Heh, maybe. I just haven't been sleeping well, that's all. Now stop worrying about me! I'm fine."

"Pfft, just be careful okay Iruka?" Genma grinned, before returning to his seat in the corner of the room where he'd left his partially finished paperwork.

Iruka stuck a tongue out and went back to his work, his scarred face crumpling slightly once it was out of view.

'Kashi.' He thought to himself, sadly. 'You were due back over two months ago. Where are you?'

If anyone had paid more attention to the teacher, they'd have noticed the drastic changes in his appearance and personality. He'd barely left the house, hadn't seen Naruto in weeks and couldn't remember the last time he'd even laughed. Iruka discreetly wiped his eyes and tried to read the tedious report in front of him, like he had for the last half an hour.

'I will not lose it in the Mission Room.' He chanted to himself, as he felt his eyes prickle slightly and a lump form in his throat.

"Maa Iruka-sensei. You look tired."

Iruka's head snapped up and his eyes widened significantly.

Before he could even comprehend his actions, he had leapt across the desk and wrapped his legs around the pale man's waist. His arms draped around his boyfriend's neck as he fervently covered the masked man's face with brisk kisses.

"Where. The. Hell. WHERE YOU?!"

Kakashi chuckled as Iruka finally realised their location, and the audience surrounding them, causing him to blush a deep red.

"I mean. Good to have you back, Kakashi-sensei."
