"Oh, Juliet." Romeo moaned, hovering over the body of his love. He continued lamenting for a few minutes, reciting awful poetry, moaning, and repeatedly embracing and kissing her. All in all, touching, but rather boring. Then he raised the little vial of poison to his lips, my body went taunt, ready for action. Right before he tilted the vial, I sprang, hitting his head with the stick of wood in my hand. He moaned and fell, right next to Juliet. Out cold. I mentally congratulated myself. Then she started to stir. I settled back into my hiding place, waiting for my next move.

She sees him dead, and freaks out. Then she calls him a churl for not having any poison still in the vial, before kissing him, and being upset that there was no poison on his lips. "Thy lips are warm!" She exclaims. Whoops, I hadn't really thought of that detail. She pulls his dagger from his sheath, and holds it to her breast. "This is thy sheath; there rust, and let me die!" I spring into action again, also hitting her on top the head. A groan and she falls, unconscious.

"Hey!" My partner whisper/shouts from further back in the crypt.

"All clear!" I signal back. He comes forward, dragging two fake copies of the tragic lovers with him. I sling Juliet over my shoulder (she is heavy!) while he positions the fakes in their positions. They are good fakes, there is even fake blood for where Juliet had planned to stab herself. He slings Romeo over his shoulder. I close my eyes, and feel the shift.

When I open them again my partner and I are standing next to each other, the star crossed lovers still over our shoulders. We lay them down together on a mossy boulder nearby. "We should go." My partner says to me. I nod, and we both run, as fleet as the deer that roam these plains. They will be happy together, and happy of a second chance, one without restriction society walls, nurses, fiancées, or parents. Free to love each other as they will. Free as my partner and I are. Who knows, maybe even one day they will do for others as we have done for them. Maybe not. All I know is that for me and my love, it's all in the line of duty.

Yeah, it's pretty farfetched, but it just popped into my head one day and I finally typed it out. Need I say I am not William Shakespeare, so I do not own Romeo and Juliet (or any of the original text in this fic). But I do own the two partners (they were originally going to be elves, think Lord of the Rings, but I didn't know how to put that in there). So if anyone reads this, then please review. Thanks.
