Author note: So I'm one of those people who like a happy story with a dash of drama. Therefore, as of right now: The Hale family is alive. Werewolves still exist. Everyone is alive including Erica, Boyd, Allison, and etc… Kate is still dead though. I hated her. This is obviously AU and stars an OC. The characters won't always be "in character" because they are in MY story and I don't own Teen Wolf so thank you in advance for not telling me how a character is "way ooc." That being said I do hope you like the story as it unfolds.
Penelope "Penny" Johnson wasn't a shy girl despite the fact that she'd never really had friends. She'd always been the one to stand up for the "underdog". It was probably because she was also an underdog herself. At 5'4 and a little on the chubbier side of the scale she hadn't fit in quite right at the last two schools she had been placed in due to her parents new and ever changing jobs. It didn't help that she wouldn't just be the quiet chubby girl in the back of the classroom that kept her head down when someone was being teased. No, Penny was the girl who was currently waiting outside of her new principle's office for punching the cheerleader for making fun of the girl with epilepsy on her first day of school. Who knew Beacon Hills High School would be this interesting already?
Penny typed away on her cell phone as she waited for her mom and Principal Thomas to finish hashing it out in his office. She'd almost beat another level of Candy Crush before she realized there was someone standing over her.
"Thank you for what you did today today. I'd told Harris for weeks that Stacey and her bitch squad was picking on Reyes again during his class but he didn't care about since it didn't affect him directly I guess." Penny stared up at the thin brunette with Panic. At the Disco shirt. At the Disco was crossed out to read "Just Panic." The sarcasm seemed strong in this one. Penny came back to focus on the girl's face as she continued to acknowledge the sitting girls existance. " - but that's why this school sucks so much, I guess. Oh, I'm Cora by the way. We are going to be best friends now. What's your name by the way?"
'Wow,' Penny thought to herself, 'is this how you make friends that aren't just on Tumblr?'
"I'm Penny John-" She started to introduce herself to Cora as the door to Principal Thomas's office flew open with an audible bang.
"Hale! Don't tell me you are in trouble again?!" After barking this out Thomas didn't give Cora time to reply. "Johnson you are free to go. Just don't do it again!" He quickly closed the door to his office leaving Penny's mother Peregrine standing just outside of the door. Her mother was wearing the same expression she always had after talked down an angry parent of one of her students. Particularly the ones with asshole kids. She stood up and tucked her phone into her back pocket. Glancing at Cora one last time she followed her mom past the front desk and out of the main office of the school into the parking lot. At 2:23 in the afternoon there were a few students out on their free period but not enough to be concerned about seeing the new girl being escorted out of the front office with her mother.
"Do you want ice cream or something before we get home, Penelope?" Her mom's voice cut off her train of thought about her sudden new friend.
" Uh, no thanks. I think I'm going to go back on that diet now." Teenage girls were bitches when it came to insults. Although, to be fair she had just punched one of them in the nose.
Penny's mother pursed her lips and looked like she was about to say something about the supposed diet to her daughter but instead reached into her bag to retrieve her car keys. "Okay but if your father asks I gave you a stern talking to."
"Right. Got it."
Penny strapped herself in with the seatbelt as her mother started pulling out of BHHS parking lot and driving to their new house.
