Hi everyone! I have chosen to make a few changes to the original series. First of all, I have chosen to leave all of the major houses intact, I feel that this will make things easier on the reader (and on me). I am also not going to go over how 'A Song of Ice and Fire' ended, as I think it will be more enjoyable if I focus on the story at hand. I have induced a short backstory below, and the prologue is under that.

Back Story

It is 100 years after 'A Song of Ice and Fire' ended, and the grandson of Queen Daenerys I Targaryen, the ironically named King Aerys III, is king. But Aerys is an old man, one with many children, and even more grandchildren, so when he dies suddenly, if not unexpectedly, the realm is thrown into chaos as both of his heirs: Princess Rhaellen Targaryen, his only living child by his first marriage, and a woman grown with five children of her own: His eldest son and child of his second marriage Crown Prince Aemon Targaryen, also married and with children of his own, although they are young: And his younger brother Lord Viserys Targaryen, who thinks both his niece and nephew unworthy of the crown, and so plans to take it for himself.

But even as these three Targaryens make their plans and look for alliances with the major houses so as to take the Iron Throne. The people of Westeros, smallfolk and noble alike, look to the ruins of Harrenhal and wonder if Daemon Targaryen 'The Mad Prince', eldest child of Princess Rhaellen, and rider of Rhaegal the last of the great dragons, may be the one to decide this dance of blood and flame.

Prologue: Daemon I

Rain thundered down onto the black and twisted towers of Harrenhal. The castle had passed from one lord to another many time over the four hundred years that the Targaryens had ruled Westeros. After Queen Daenerys I Targaryen was crowned the castle had been left to the elements, no one wanted to disturb its empty halls and melted towers, no has wanted to live in a place that had seen the fall of every house who had ever held lordship over it.

So it was that Harrenhal had been left to the wind and weather for close to a century. Until, just a little under three years earlier, in the bloody aftermath of the Red Rebelling, in which House Bolton had risen agents their Stark overlords in a savage rebellion which had taken thousands of lives, a scarlet dragon had come to rest in the abandoned main courtyard.

So had come the then sixteen-year-old Daemon Targaryen, firstborn of Princess Rhaellen, and eldest grandchildren of King Aerys, in the back of his dragon Rhaegal, the last of the three dragons who had come with Queen Daenerys I when she took back Westeros form the Baratheon usurpers.

Daemon had landed in the courtyard and taken Harrenhal for his own, likely because it was a place as broken as he was. For the young prince had spent a quarter of a year in the dungeons Dreadfort, a captive of the Bolton's for much of the Red Rebelling. Daemon had come out of the Dreadfort broken both mentally and physically, unable to stand the touch of another, even his mother, and unable to bear the stress and strain of the Royal Court.

Most said that it was the stress and anxiety that had driven the young prince mad, other told that it was the shame of what had been done to him that had destroyed the mind of the most promising heir to the throne. But whatever it had been, there was little doubt in the minds of most that Daemon Targaryen was insane.

From the day he had been cared out of the Dreadfort's smoking ruins by his uncle Crown Prince Aemon, all of Westeros had known that Daemon's mind was broken, it had taken the young prince six weeks to say a word after his rescue, and when he was at last able to speak of what he had endured it had horrified both his family and the country. No long after the young prince had locked himself within his rooms in the Red Keep, refusing to eat or see anyone, although it had been rumored that he would wander the halls at night.

The final act, however, the one that had proved that Daemon really was insane, had been his vicious attack of his younger sister, who had thought that her elder brother might be wanting for female company, and so, she had stripped bare and presented herself to him, his response, although reports varied, and been to brutally attack her, this action had proved, to all but a few, that Daemon had been driven mad.

Daemon himself thought that most were not far off the mark either. He often felt like an outsider in his own mind, and he was afraid that being around others would cause him to attack someone else. It was thoughts among those lines that had led to him leveling King's Landing in the dead of night. However, at that moment, it was not those thoughts that plagued his mind, one this particular stormy night Daemon's mind was one the strange dream that had plagued his sleep for the last fortnight.

It was always the same dream, and although it was a pleasant and welcome, break from the nightmares that he normally suffered from, it was also a disturbing one. For one Daemon knew that, unless it was a memory, you should never have the same dream more than once, yet this dream had come again and again, and it was always the same.

(flashback to Daemon's dream)

Daemon would find himself in the stress of King's Landing, it would be noon, with the sun high in the sky. He would walk through the city and he would see that everything was dead and burned, that nothing in the city was alive. The Dragon Pit, which had been rebuilt would be in ruins, crushed under several dragons, ones that were scarlet or silver in color. The Red Keep would be a burned ruin as well and within its walls, he would find more scarlet and silver dragons, which would also be dead. At last, he would find himself on a balcony in Maegor's Holdfast, and he would look up at the sky to see several sable dragons, but as he would watch the sable dragons would kill one another. His dream world end when he turned around to see three dragon eggs, one scarlet, one silver, and one sable.

(end flashback to Daemon's dream)

So it was that Daemon Targaryen stared out into the stormy night, and wondered I'm the meaning of his strange and yet foreboding dream.

Ok, for SYOC I mostly need Targaryens, this story is largely about them and their dragons, I don't mind seeing characters from the major houses, but I don't need them as much. As for Targaryens, I am in need of Princess Rhaellen's other four children, who are between ages 17 and 10. The children and siblings of Crown Prince Aemon, including his sister-wife, Aemon's siblings should be between the ages of 25 and 15, and his children between the ages of a few days and 10. Any bastard Targaryens that might be running around would be welcome as well.

To get you character to me you can either leave a review of send me a PM. I am also taking ideas for dragons, if you have an idea for one just let me know in the same way.
