This oneshot is dedicated to my little baby sister, as she was born on my favorite month and holiday of all time. Merry Christmas everyone, and Happy New Year. :)
As I look at the sky, snow was falling in the clear dark night on Christmas Eve. I remember my brothers loved watching the snow when we were little, playing outside in our winter clothes. Building snowmen, making snow angels, and having snowball fights.
When we went back to the house, Mama fix us some hot chocolate, and we listen to Christmas music. When Father comes home from work, we hug him and he hugged us back asking about how was our day. We begin to pray before we start eating our Christmas dinner, we clean up and we changed into our pajamas.
Usually, parents tell their children to go to bed so they can open their presents on Christmas, but Mama and Father decided to let all three of us stay up to open our presents. As the clock finally reached 12, we were jumping for joy and was cheering with glee.
Every present under the Christmas tree was nicely wrapped in colorful wrapping paper with bows on top. We open our presents one at a time, while trying to keep our excitement under control.
My older brother had a gift inside of a big blue box with stars on it, it was revealed to be a telescope. My second older brother had a gift inside of a yellow rectangle shaped box, it was a puppet dressed up in Victorian clothes. I had a present inside of a small red box, I slowly open it...
And it was an ancient emerald necklace.
Chris was a bit confused and puzzled as he look at the necklace, while Thomas laughed about why would I have something that's so girly.
Then Mama said, "Your brother wanted the necklace because it was special, a reminder of us as a family."
" Presents are not the most important thing," Father said "The true meaning of Christmas is having each other."
We all looked at each other, and we all came together in a warm embrace with smiles on our faces.
"Merry Christmas." said Mama and Father.
"Merry Christmas." said Thomas.
"Merry Christmas." said Chris.
Finally, I also said, "Merry Christmas."
I heard a little coo from the nusery room, I walked towards the white crib and I smiled at the little baby with big green eyes. I pick him up as sat on the chair near the window. I'm here holding my little ball of sunshine, as we spending the holidays together. "Merry Christmas, little Michael."
The end. The Arclight Family definitely needs some love, so let me be the one to give it to them. Let's hope we have a better year in 2018! ;)
