Charred Ashes
Disclaimer: I neither own Pokémon nor Pokemorphs.
Team Rocket's Fusion Faction had been going on for decades. They'd been working on the idea of fusing Pokémon with humans, to create a creature they decided to call Pokemorphs. Giovanni had been working on finding a Pokémon powerful enough to give the Morph strong enough abilities, and to provide a secondary life force, to stabilise the Morph's condition when dying.
Team Rocket had discovered that the younger the human/Pokémon subjected to the fusing process, the higher the rate of survival and so-called flawlessness. They reckoned that to get the highest rate of success, the two beings would have to be fused while in the womb, or literally bred together. Experiment S-001 had been completed on the theory that they would have been injected with Pokémon DNA while the embryo was still growing. It had shown promise at first, but after a few days, experiment S-001, later renamed 'Icarus', had died.
Experiment S-002 had been slightly more successful when operating on the breeding theory, but the end product had been a brain-dead moron that had the intelligence of a vegetable-literally. They had, after a few weeks, put it out of its misery. After that, it had been several weeks of trying to utilise a legendary Pokémon's ability's to fuse human and Pokémon. Unfortunately, the one time they managed to capture a sleeping Ho-Oh, the facility was destroyed and all data in the building lost. The only thing left had been a crater where the Institute had been.
Experiment S-003 had been their first successful subject. They had recently discovered a Pokémon disease called 'Pokerus', which seemed to have different effects in different ways used. When activated as a gas, it gave the subject inhuman abilities for a period of a week per dosage. When used as an injection, it would convert a subject's limbs to that of the previous subject. When this strange disease was constantly smeared over a subject's body, it would give them the ability's of the previous subject, giving a Raichu Water Gun for example, and held no regard for types or weaknesses.
After utilising all of these strategies, they finally managed to create a Pokemorph. The Pokemorph was a boy whose operations had started while being incubated, in a nourishment tube instead of a womb. This Pokemorph was a fusion of human and Cyndaquil, the first willing Pokémon they could find. Experiment S-003, later renamed 'Cameron', had been held for 13 years since his birth and seemed to be a very powerful addition to Team Rocket's perverted research.
Cameron's Point Of View (POV)
I focussed on the punching bag in front of me. They were trying to work out whether they could level me up like a normal Pokémon, even though most thought it was hopeless. I glanced around, and Giovanni, my master, nodded at me. I turned, took a deep breath, and unleashed my fury, raining down a hail of Scratches and Embers, coupled with less-effective punches and kicks. At the end, what lay on the floor was merely tattered scraps of cloth and burnt stuffing. Giovanni nodded again, and I stepped back. There was a slight change in my energy levels, but I didn't reveal it.
Giovanni said something to an assistant, and then jerked his head at another, who took my arm and escorted me away. As we neared my cell I faltered, looking back the way we had come. 13 years. I thought. 13 years in captivity, and no resistance. Is this how I'm going to spend my life, in a laboratory? No. I had decided. The escort jerked my arm, mumbling something about getting to my cell. I turned, ripping my arm out of his grip.
"What are you doing, idiot?" The escort glared at me, reaching out to grab me again.
"Sorry about this. But I really don't want to stay here for the rest of my life." I said firmly.
