"Here..." Zoro said handing me a book. "I bought you this." He smiled at me and I stood up out of my chair, wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing his cheek.
"You didn't need to you know-" I started to whisper but he stroked up my back and I closed my eyes and grinned with pleasure.
"But I did." He held me close and made patterns on my back with his index finger. He traced my spine and I could make out the words 'I love you' as he tickled down my back.
I cuddled into his chest and stroked his jaw singing gently the words to one of our songs. "Kono tsukiakari no shita hitori shirezu Kimi no namae dake wo yondeita Shizuka na aijou wo shinjiteta Kono hikari no naka ni..." I felt him smile as he rested his chin on my head and swayed gently with me in his arms.
"There's never a time when I don't think about you. On nights where it's like this I can't catch hold of anything. There isn't a day I don't think about it, May my hesitating heart reach you..." He quoted the next verse in English and I blushed, kissing his nose. "Here, please... Read it." He said once more, handing me the book. "I need to go, I'll be in our cabin tonight." He promised, and with that, climbed off the Sunny.
I sighed happily then opened the book on the first page. I read the first paragraph and smiled; Zoro knew I loved Romance novels, especially ones like this.
I continued reading, becoming so absorbed that I didn't notice Zoro had came back, or the fact that he was standing behind me. "You're a pretty fast reader..." He said, looking at the book and noticing I was more than half way through already. "I hope you like the ending." He grinned and walked away, leaving me confused. 'Like the ending?' What could he mean by that? I shook my head and continued reading. I'd never skip to the end of a book to find out how it ends, that would spoil the fun of it.
After a while I got up, leaving my almost finished book laying on the deck chair, having only a few pages left. Zoro trained below and I smiled down at him, getting a wink in return. "Its a beautiful night." I sighed and he nodded in agreement.
"Come and sit with me?" He asked and I nodded, grabbing my book. I usually wouldn't be so enthusiastic about finishing a book but his words had me curious.
"As long as you don't mind me reading..." I teased and he chuckled to himself.
"Why would I?" He asked, and grinned as lay on the deck chair next to him. He started counting quietly and I got back to reading.
It was a beautiful story and I loved every moment of it. I could imagine being in the main character's place and Zoro would end up being the guy she fell in love with. I finished it and smiled happily. I flicked over the last blank page and saw something written on the inside of back cover. "I love You Nico Robin with all my heart. I tried to think of a smart way to do this but this is all I could come up with, writing it on the inside of a book. I want us to be together forever and I'm not a man of many words so I'll just say it straight. Will you marry me?"
I was speechless. He was serious about this and I was screaming inside, crying with happiness. Zoro noticed the shocked expression that must have been on my face because he tilted the head to the side innocently. "Robin, you alright?" He asked, trying to hold back laughter.
I stood up and walked over to where he was sitting and threw myself at him, cuddling into his shoulder.
"So... What do you say?" He asked nervously and I pulled him closer.
"Yes." I nodded happily, a tear running down my cheek. "I love you Zoro!"
