It's over.

A KakaSaku fic.

As she stood by his grave, she thought of all those moments they spent together. From the days in Team 7, to the Chunin exams, to all the fights, to their love and now his death.

He wasn't just one of the greatest Jonin on the village. He was more than that. In her heart, she knew he was the only one who could make her smile.

He was her friend, her lover, her shoulder to cry on, her guardian angel.

'Kakashi,' she whispered. Tears ran down her cheeks and she kneeled to the floor. She'd been there for hours and just didn't feel like going home. She found the letters of his name with her fingertips and ran through every letter over and over again.

It wasn't just the memories that kept her tears falling; it was also what she heard the Hokage say as she was standing beside his grave stone...

"Do not ask us if we miss him

He was always kind and true

Never murmured in his sufferings

No one knew what he went through

We watched him fading like a flower

And could not make him stay

We tended him with every care

Till God called him away"

Not only that, but those words he said before he died, as he lay on the hospital bed holding her hand,

"Weep not for me or wish me back

I'll be from pain now free

And in my saviour's arms I'll rest

That's where I long to be

You're watching for me beside my bed

Now I will watch for you

And when you reach the golden gates

I'll come and lead you through

I love you"

It was true; it was over.

The End
