"Sasuke, "the mantra echoed throughout her bathroom. She usually referred to him as 'Koi', but that bond was now broken. She tried to forget, but the hollow and painful feeling in her chest would only worsen. The shower she was currently taking wasn't helping wash away. All the impurities she felt were staining her to the core, all the scrubbing that nearly made her skin raw couldn't distract her. As she rose from the porcelain on the bottom of the tub she felt contradicted. Her body was like a feather, but her spirit was like lead. As for her heart that was gone along with Sasuke.
After getting out the shower she glanced upon her reflection. 'Oh gosh!' from the whisker like birthmarks to her emphasized curves and everything in between she was hideous. At least she was in her mind. Sakura was obviously the smarter choice. She had beauty, knowledge and power. She was blemish free, and no curves which were emphasized by her height which Naruko didn't have. Sakura had soft green eyes and beautiful porcelain skin. Naruko had sad blue eyes and tan stained skin. Sakura's lips didn't make her look like she was constantly pouting.
When she got back to reality she saw she was in front of a glass of water a bottle of sleeping pills and a note for her kyoumu (godmother) that read "I'm sorry, kyoumu for being selfish, but how can't I keep on living like this. I know you won't understand, but it's better if you don't. I love you." The letter was stained with dried tears. She would always bring these items out when she felt on edge. Thanks to that mirror encounter she has snapped. She lifted up the bottle to her lips; relief along with tears spreading on her face. She would finally get to see her family and loved ones again; in the afterlife. She would get to be with people who loved her, but she would find herself still craving that one special bond: a lover. "Bottoms up,"
'You have reached the Namikaze residence please leave a message.'
'Naruko,'
"Sasuke!? Sasuke!" she nearly stumbled running to the phone. Her hands froze when she griped the phone. "…".
'Pick up the phone, I know your there. Please.' She stopped as soon as she heard the guilt in his voice. She didn't know what she wanted to hear, but she knew it wasn't guilt. The guilt is probably what compelled to call. Not probable lingering feelings for her. She found herself relaxed after hearing his voice.
She discarded the water, pills and shredded the note. She turned to her cellphone putting on a playlist 'S', laying on her bed, dressed in a plain white nightgown; her hair disarray against the bed sheets. That night Sasuke the one and only person that has ever has and will ever have her heart was her saving grace.
