Stiles finally got his truck started again after it decided to break down in the middle of the outskirts of Mexico. Truth be told he started working to get it fixed faster the moment Malia ran after that unknown creature that was lurking around them in the shadow of the night. Now they're sat together along with Lydia and Kira in the moving jeep to catch up with Scott. Kira and Lydia silently sitting in the back, while Malia was trying not to think about the huge gaping gash in her side and Stiles was being Stiles and overthinking everything that happened today. Malia knew something was wrong and decided to confront the problem now to figure it out and try to help him out somehow, after all she is a very straight forward, socially awkward person when it comes to these kinds of situations.
"I thought you were running!" was Stiles' only response to being asked what was wrong.
"I was running!"
"No. I, I thought you were leaving."
"I would never leave without you." she paused before looking at the two in the back of the jeep, "Them I would leave!"
To say Lydia and Kira were some what offended but at least a little understanding was an understatement since Lydia's Jaw practically hit the floor when those words left Malia's mouth.
"Yeah um, that's progress." was all Stiles had to say in defence to Malia's words.
After the short and sweet little heart to heart Stiles and Malia had, if that's what you can call it, the rest of the car journey was practically silent. instead being filled with the thoughts of everyone's realisation to what Malia basically just said. Growing up in the wild she was raised to fend for herself and no one else as a means for survival, but confessing that she wouldn't leave without Stiles means she would go against her natural survival instincts as a coyote for Stiles because of how much she cares for him.
I guess you could say 'It's Progress'!
