Hey everyone! This is a story I thought of several months ago. I decided to post it and see if it's any good.

I was playing at Macey's house when we got the call. The call that started it all. Macey and I raced each other to the phone, though of course I got there first. "Hello?" I said. "Is this the Serlin residence?" a rough voice asked. "Yes, why?" I inquired.

"We regret to inform James Reilly and Macey Serlin that their parents were killed in a fire. The house was burnt down. They are asked to please come immediately," the man said. "Yes, okay...we'll be right over," I hung up. "What is it?" asked Macey. "Our parents...they're dead," I replied.

Macey stared at me, unbelieving, and then fell to her knees. I sat down next to her. For a few minutes we stayed that way, each of us trying to understand. Macey was the first to recover. "We better go, James," Macey said.

"Yeah...yeah we better," I replied. I stood up. Then we walked out the door in silence. When we got to the house, a terrible sight met our eyes. Where my house had been there was a hole with a big pile of ashes.

Police were looking through the pile, seeing if there was the teeniest bit of my house or furniture left. I knew there would be nothing. One of the cops heard us and turned around to face us."Hello, you must be James and Macey. I'm the officer who called you. I am so sorry for what has happened to you- young man, get away from there!". I jumped back from the edge of the hole where the basement used to be.

"That is dangerous, what if you fell in?" the policeman added. I had only been looking to see if maybe the basement had survived at all. Nope. Nothing was left. It was all gone.

The officer walked up to me with Macey. "If you two will get in my car, it's time to go to the orphanage," the cop said. Orphanage. Orphans. Me. Macey. Parents. Gone. Forever. No...No...NO! The word orphanage made it all crash down on me. I didn't like it.

Macey could see me heating up, and she held onto me, trying to comfort me. The policeman grabbed at me. "I don't have time for this, kid, let's go," he said impatiently. "No, we'll live on our own," I said. He laughed and said, "You're coming with ME, kid". I could feel my adrenaline rising. I wasn't going with him, didn't he understand? I knew my temper wasn't going to last much longer.

When he grabbed for me again, I was done. Macey held tight to me, and I exploded. "NOOO!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Next thing I knew, there was a flash and we were standing in the middle of the woods. Macey was still holding onto me.

"J-James... w-where are we?" she asked timidly. "I have no idea," I replied.

Why am I telling you all this? Because you needed to know this before you were told the rest. Some one needs to know this. Just in case. In case he returns. Cause we might not be around to save everyone.

So? How am I doing so far? Is it great? Do I suck? R&R please. Next chapter will be up ASAP (and it will be longer).
