My friend suggested to put this story up so I'm going to. Yes it's another professor layton future plot but oh well! I quite enjoy writing these stories especially since I go around roleplaying them all of the time. :D Please enjoy.

I heard screams that deafened my ears. All around me children were stabbing each other to the death. My

eyes watered as I saw the blood that marked their death ,stained to the ground. I had a bow strapped over

my shoulder; I could use that to fight my way out but what was the use? I was weak; scared. Right before my

eyes, nearly 10 feet away was a boy from my district pulling back his arrow aiming at me. I heard the swish as

it soared through the air. All was lost.

I woke up screaming, sweat dripping from my face. My heart was speeding inside me, this made me ache for

the comfort of my younger sister. I sat up and looked at my sisters' bed where she should have been sleeping,

but she wasn't there. I assumed she had a bad dream and decided to sleep with our mother. I would do the

same but it was her turn now to have the comfort of our mother before the hour of the reaping. I stood to my

feet and walked into our small but comfortable kitchen. I got a glass of water from our faucet and gulped it

down. I thought about how many times my name was in there and what were the chances of my name being

chosen. Every year the capitol chooses a boy and a girl from the ages twelve through eighteen to fight in the

sport the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a game where there is only one winner and the rest of the

players are dead.

I'm fourteen years old pretty small for my age but can shoot a mean arrow. I've been in the name

drawing three times now and will probably have a less chance of being chosen. My sister Clover is twelve

years of age and has only been in there once. I look over at my parents and my sister snug up together. I

smile and head out the door. The only thing on my mind at the moment was to go hunt before the reaping.

I was starving and wanted to bring home some good food for breakfast. I headed under the fence that led

into the woods. I walked through the woods a bit counting the number of trees that were in front of me.

Once I reached ten I looked behind the tree to get my bow.

My bow was hand crafted by my father as a birthday present. The wood he made it out of was very valuable

glass. Yes glass. The glass is so hard that it doesn't break easily. It took him a whole five years to save the

money to make the bow and I'm very thankful.

" Snailena!"

I jumped for a moment and then realized who it was. "Nicholas you blockhead! Don't scare me like that!"

Snailena is of course not my real name. It's my stupid nickname that my stupid brother gave me as a kid. I

guess it's partially my fault because I went around telling everyone what I thought was my name. My real

name is Selena.

"You decided to get out of bed this year and hunt for our dinner tonight?" Nicholas asked coming over to me.

"If I survive that long. I mean what if my name is chosen this year?"

"What if, what if. Let's eat." He took my wrist and dragged me up a hill and over to a river where there were

black berry bushes. The berries were fresh enough to eat this month. I sat down with my brother

and we started to feast.

"We could do it you know."

"Do what?" I asked.

"Run off live in the woods."

"They would catch us."

"Well maybe not."

"We wouldn't make it five miles." I smiled.

"It's worth a shot." He grinned.

We sat in silence for awhile each knowing it was a stupid idea.

"C'mon we have to go." I hit his arm.
