I looked around in the dorm. It was dark an I was the only one up, drawing. My sketchbook was full of drawings of friends and family. Trying not to wake everyone in Ravenclaw up, I quietly sketched while my wand let out just enough light.
The picture was a picture of my best friend, Angela, who was murdered nine years ago. The case was never finished because of the death of the police chief. I had finished my sketch and started inking. I heard one of my roommates roll over in their sleep.
Suddenly, the picture jumped out and screamed! The whole dorm woke up and Minnie turned on the lights.
"What in God's name was that?" she asked, glaring at me. Honestly, I was a little spooked myself. Rory, the roommate that turned over in his sleep, rubbed his eyes. I shifted my eyes nervously and looked at the clock.
"I-It's time to get up, anyways," I said, saving myself from being pummeled. They all got up and got ready while I looked at the picture that had jumped out. It was still Angela, but her mouth was open, and she was bleeding from the mouth. I didn't know what to think.
I walked to my first class: Potions. I absolutely dreaded most classes because I usually failed to do the simplest of spells. A painting of a pilgrim woman called my name.
"Goodness me, deary! You look so pale! What's the matter?" asked the woman.
"Oh, nothing. Just had a little fright is all..." I replied, soon trying to catch up to my friends. I tripped and bumped right into Minnie, who glared at me, this time with a soul-piercing glare. I shuddered and clung to the other one in the trio, Rory. He looked at me and smiled, patting my head.
In class, we were learning about a growth potion. I tried following the recipe, but when I tested the potion, it shrank what it touched instead. I sighed and hung my head in shame, but then, the things grew to the size of people!
Everyone applauded me, even if it was sort of an accident. The objects then started shrinking and growing again and again, rapidly, until they exploded! Luckily, no-one was hurt. I got up and dusted mself off. The potion was unstable, sadly, and that meant that it could never be used on a living thing.
After potions, I went to all my other classes. They were all rather, hard, but doable. I was probably the worst student in Ravenclaw! But at least I try, even without confidence.
I decided not to listen to the next class much, so I started sketching a group of banshees. Believe it or not, I actually got through inking one full banshee. But then they popped out of my sketchbook and start flying all around the classroom!
Luckily, the teacher was able to defeat the banshees, and they re-entered their page. I looked at the page again, and this time the banshees seemed to look like they were crowding someone, their mouths wide open, like they were about to scream.
Minnie was curled up in a corner, bawling. Rory was trying to comfort Minnie. And me? I just grabbed my sketchbook and sprinte out of the now-terribly-messy classroom.
