After recieving approval from the state of Colorado in 1996, a section of rocky mountain forest about 7 miles west of Gunnison would be cut down to build the country's first ever learning center for LGBT teens: Camp Buddy.
Construction of the campus began on September 8 until it was open for staff on May 30, 1997. The first familiar face was Yoshinori Nagira, who, at age 21, became the main counselor when the first campers arrived on Monday, the 2nd of June. The program runs for a total of 50 days, with new students allowed to join during the first 40. Campers from ages 10 to 20 are permitted. The following are a series of fanon events that took place since then, up to when the game takes place, which is presumed to be 2018.
Class 1 (Summer 1997)
Yoshinori's first year.
Class 2 (Summer 1998)
Yoichi's first year at age 10.
Alfred, a camper with undiagnosed bipolar disorder due to neglecting parents, severely injures Yoichi and kills another camper, igniting his hatred for the camp. Alfred ran off into the woods after the incident and was never found.
Elsewhere, Keitaro is born.
Class 3 (Summer 1999)
Taiga and his friends are all born this year. Aiden is born.
For unknown reasons, Goro, Yoshi's father, begins considering shutting the camp down, but he spends quite a while deciding when to strike.
The Millennium Class (Summer 2000)
Hunter is born.
One camper claims to see a ghost, who the others begin to believe belongs to Alfred who may have killed himself after the murder incident two years prior.
Class 5 (Summer 2001)
Hiro is born.
Lee is found out to be nearsighted.
Class 6 (Summer 2002)
An internet connection, albeit several years overdue, is established for the camp.
Natsumi becomes Yoshi's assistant.
Class 7 (Summer 2003)
Felix is born.
Eduard first shows signs of being gay/trans to his parents.
Class 8 (Summer 2004)
Connor is born.
The camp's website is created.
Class 9 (Summer 2005)
A forest fire nearly reaches the camp before being put out by national park services.
Class 10 (Summer 2006)
The youngest camper to date, Knox, is born elsewhere.
For over a week, Yoshi is unable to hike with this year's campers due to breaking a foot.
Class 11 (Summer 2007)
The only year prior to Keitaro's arrival that two campers had sex with eachother.
Class 12 (Summer 2008)
A record-long blackout lasts 6 days.
Class 13 (Summer 2009)
Taiga Lee and Eduard's first year, who meet Yoichi and take an instant disliking to him.
Class 14 (Summer 2010)
Natsumi begins to lose hearing in one ear, which continued to the present.
Class 15 (Summer 2011)
Yoichi claims to have seen Alfred's ghost, but nobody thinks he's being serious.
Class 16 (Summer 2012)
Elsewhere, Hiro and Keitaro become best friends.
Class 17 (Summer 2013)
A short-lived space club is made, but it is broken up again after Goro tells his son to stick with the main purpose of the camp.
Class 18 (Summer 2014)
Mrs. Yuri joins her brother in running the camp as a scoutmaster.
Class 19 (Summer 2015)
Lee becomes the first camper in the history of the site to drive.
Class 20 (Summer 2016)
Hunter's first year.
Felix's first year.
Class 21 (Summer 2017)
Connor's first year.
Knox's first year.
Class 22 (Summer 2018)
Keitaro and Hiro's first year.
Goro begins carrying out his plan to close the camp for good.
