Battle Across Every Age

The Hero's Spirit. The Hatred of Demise. The Goddess Incarnate. Their battle began long ago, and it rages across every era in Hyrule's long and troubled history. This is a poem about the overarching story which we see in most Zelda games, reaching back to the beginning with Skyward Sword...

The Battle Across Every Age

The Sword of Evil's Bane
calls the hero by name,
"Come my chosen one;
evils time is done.
Arise, Link, arise.

For the dark one has come again.
Freed once more is dark Gannon,
and his foes they pale
as their courage fails
at the power in his eyes.

Yet, hope remains it seem
as Zelda dreams her dreams.
She must search him out
the one she dreams about,
or Hyrule will meet it demise.

Farore, Din, and Lanayru,
(and the goddess Hylia too)
did this battle begin
qith the master of Gannon-
the great dark god Demise.

Once again, time has set the stage
for the battle across every age.
So now across the land
everyone must stand,
and good in victory shall arise.

So, go gather each sage
to renew dark Gannon's cage,
and with the holy blade
and royal magic's aid
we fight the chosen of Demise.

Now, Hyrule has rest once more
the land of Lanayru, Din, Farore.
Since Gannon is gone,
the hero's time is done,
til' the next time evil does rise.
