"Blow out the candles"

"Make a wish Hermione"

She closed her eyes and thought hard, she knew what she wanted more than anything. She blew put all 16 candles and opened her eyes. Ron wrapped his arm around her and kissed her cheek.

"Happy Birthday Love"

She smiled slightly, it was her best birthday yet, she was with the man she loved and nothing anybody could say would stop her feeling this way. A lonely tear leaked from her eyes and she stood and excused herself.

She walked out of the great hall, into the corridor, she stood by a window and gazed outside, it was begining to rain, but she didn't care. The rain couldn't stop her happiness and the celebrations.

She felt two strong arms snake thier way around her waist. She wiped the tear away and a smirk crept on her face. She looked down at his hands, saw his glistening ring and relaxed into his chest.

"Happy Birthday Babe!" He said in a growl, he turned her around placing his hands on her hips and drawing her in. His eyes met hers and he held her gaze for a moment before kissing her gently.

He pulled out of the kiss and looked into her brown eyes, there was something playing on his mind, he needed to get it out.

"Hermione, I can't keep this a secret any longer, I've waited too long for you."

"I know, it's time to tell them but i just don't know how they'll react. I mean, yes Ginny knows and she is happy about us but what will the others say?"

She leant into his chest, his arms around her.

"We won't know until we take this step."

She nodded and looked up into his eyes.

"Are you sure you want this, your not going to dump me after this are you?"

Hermione was used to voicing her insecurities, he just found it cute.

"Ofcorse I'm not going to dump you, are you crazy? After all i've been through to get you, I'm never letting you go."

"Come on" He took her hand in his, drew her in for a quick kiss and said "Lets get this over with"

He pulled her forward, towards the doors, back into the great hall, she was just about to push them open when she stopped.

"Just give me a minute."

He looked at her incrediously, she was really going to do this for him.

"You take all the time you need, I just want to know that you'll always be by my side."

"Don't worry, you can't get rid of me that easily."

She laughed, he smiled and he pulled her in close.

"Ok, it's showtime!"

Her wish was coming true, she would be with the man she truely loved, everyone would know, some people would be crushed whilst other may be happy. But it was finally going to be out in the open after many months of secret meeting and quick glances.

How would they all react, they were such opposites...or were they?

She looked into his eyes.

"I love you, Hermione Granger"

"I love you too, Draco Malfoy"
