This takes place just a few months after the Cell Games. It's my first story and just a short one about Gohan and Chi Chi dealing with Goku's death. I hope you enjoy and please review and comment.

It was late at night. Gohan had just gotten off from work. Recently he started doing different jobs which usually took up until midnight to finish them all. He had to now. With his father dead and a new baby on the way, the poor teen and hero of Earth had to make money somehow to support his family.

"I'm so tired." Gohan said as he yawned.

It had been like this for about a month now. Gohan was always tired. He barely got any sleep. If he wasn't working then he was either taking his mother to the doctor for the baby or comforting his mother over Goku's death. Gohan had promised his father he would take care of her, and it was a promise Gohan planned to keep even if it meant his own health.

Missing a lot sleep, Gohan often found himself passing out during the day sometimes. One time Gohan got very sick but didn't tell his mom, knowing she would keep him from working so he would rest.

"I can't wait to sleep." Gohan said as she slowly walked upstairs, half asleep already.

As he headed toward his room he heard the small whimper of his mother. This had become a common thing since his father's death. Chi Chi would often spend hours at night crying.

Gohen stepped into his mother's room and crawled into her bed. He slowly put his arms around her and held her small and beautiful mother close to his own body. This always helped comfort his mother so much.

"It's okay mommy. I'm here now. Just let it all out. I know you need to cry mom but cry on me and I'll always be here to dry your tears." Gohan whispered in his mother's ear.

He slowly stroked his mothers arms with one hand while stroking her pregnant tummy with his other.

"You're father always held me and stroked my tummy like this when I was pregnant with you, Gohan." Chi Chi whispered to her son.

Gohan wrapped his newly grown tail around his mother. His tail was longer now that he was older and it was very soft. For some reason it seemed to comfort his mom when he would caress her with it.

"I know I'll never be able to replace dad. But I will always take care of you and love you mommy" Gohan said in a babyish tone, which seemed to comfort his mother even more.

Chi Chi smiled. She had raised such a kind and loving son. Her wish was that she could the unborn Goten to be just as kind and loving as Gohan. She knew it would be hard to raise the new baby without Goku around but she also knew Gohan would be as much of a father to Goten as he could. That made facing the future a little easier.

"I love you son…" Chi Chi said as she gently fell asleep in her Son's arms.

Gohan raised his tail to her cheek and dried her tears with his gentle and soft tail.

"I love you too mommy.." Gohan whispered to his sleeping mother.

Gohan kissed her pregnant tummy and then kissed her cheek before he too fell asleep, holding his mother close and safe to him.
