NIGHTMARES
This is my first story and I had to make this as an assignment for a teacher so if you are that teacher I apologize. Anyway if you like it please review and I'm am quite sure I have grammar issues in it. Please pay it no heed.
After surviving seven long days of torrential rain and being cooped up in a dreary apartment, Pat leaned an ear on the steamy window pane. The rain had stopped. A long, tired sigh escaped his red lips. The lamp barely illuminated his small figure. He ran a hand through his spiky blonde locks, while he turned toward his worn closet door. He opened it slowly and it creaked in protest. He picked up a pair of dark jeans with small tears at the knees, and a baggy wool sweater. He took off his soft frog pajamas and changed in top time. He got his black, round backpack and went to the door of his to room apartment. When he went to reach the doorknob a wave of nausea overcame him, because of a pungent stench coming beyond the pale birch door. The thud of uneven footsteps awoke him from his lucid trance. He covered his button nose with a pale, thin hand, and gagged. He thought quickly of the possibilities. "What could possibly be beyond the door?" He thought while quickly running on the soft carpet to his grandfathers silver and black katana. He gently picked it up from it's red stand and unsheathe it. Then, he strapped the silver sheath to his back diagonally. He padded silently to the peephole and peered through it. He held a frightened scream in his throat. A pale figure with bite marks on it's neck was grinning madly with it's rotten teeth and mouthing "Let's play." The overly pale figure looked like it was once a little girl by the height and the tufts of hair on the ground next to it. He let out an ear piercing scream when he could hold it no longer. He woke up in a cold sweat with a bile taste in his mouth in his comfortable orange and black comforter. He sighed in relief. "It was only a nightmare" He said. Then, he heard a high pitched laugh and a little girl say, "Pat come and play!"
