Wheeler was upset at Nichols for walking in to that cabin. When they got back to headquarters, she stalked to her desk, refusing to look at Nichols. When he tried to speak, one glance from her shut him down. Right now, Wheeler was hurt. And no amount of talking from her new partner would lessen the space between them at this point.
Nichols decided to try without words. Next morning on her desk was a bagel and an herbal tea. It was a small start, but Wheeler decided that just maybe she'd get used to this new partner after all.
