On a Dark and Alcoholic Night . . .
"Hey, Brooke, what the hell are those?" Brooke pointed toward the appendages coming from Haley's hands.
"Uhh . . . I think they're . ..Foes. Something like that anyway." She let out a drunken giggle before taking another shot of vodka.
"Fee Fi Foes Fumb!" Brooke exclaimed, tapped one of Haley's fingers with each word. Haley blinked and stared at her hand.
"Are we drunk?" She looked at Brooke, thinking that maybe that wasn't really a bottle full of water like Brooke had told her it was. It did taste kind of unwaterish now that she thought about it.
"No way, silly! If we were drunk, we'd um . . . be drunk!" Brooke's logic never seemed to fail her, even in her drunken stupor.
"Are you sure?" Haley looked around her. The walls seemed to be moving in. OMG! The walls are going to crush me to death! Haley lunged herself into Brooke's lap. "Don't let the walls kill me!"
"Um . . . maybe you are drunk. There is no way the walls can kill you, I don't even see any walls. You must be hallucinating. All I see is a great big sky, with tons of pretty, pretty, pretty stars." Brooke gazed up at the ceiling, fascinated with it. Haley looked up at the ceiling as well, then immediately regretted it.
"The ceiling is falling!" Haley wrapped her arms around Brooke and buried her head in her neck.
"Uh, yeah. Right." Brooke rolled her eyes and tried to push Haley off of her.
"Noooooo." Haley whined, wrapping her arms even tighter.
"Ohmigoodness! I just had the most brilliant idea ever." Brooke jumped of the couch, forgetting that Haley was in her lap.
"Ouch! Brookie!" Haley pouted up at Brooke who was squishing her.
"Sowwy." Brooke picked herself up and then gave Haley a hand up.
"Whoa! Now I see those stars, Brooke." Haley looked up in wonder.
"Aren't they lovely?" Brooke moved closer to Haley and stared up at the 'sky' as well. After many minutes Haley finally pulled her eyes off of the sky, and looked back to Brooke.
"So didn't you say you had a brilliant idea?"
"Oh . . um . . yeah. But I forget what it was . . . " Brooke snapped her fingers, trying to start her thinking back up. "Aha! Yes, that was it!" She grinned proudly. "Maybe we should go to bed?" Haley looked at her, eyes wide.
"Dude! Brookie, that is the best idea I have ever heard!" Brooke rolled her eyes in mock humility.
"Yeah, I thought so too." Brooke started off toward their bedroom, Haley dragging along behind her.
"This was fun . . . " Haley murmured, collapsing onto the bed. Brooke fell down half on Haley and half on the bed.
"Yup, it sure was." Brooke then closed her eyes and dreamed about Jack and the Beanstalk, while Haley had her own dream about a hallucinogen that spread through water.
THE END!
