I'm already grown up!
"Man, Sonny, I can't believe I'm already five!" A five year old Chad Dylan Cooper said to his best friend a day after his birthday party.
"Yeah. Now faiw. I'm just fouw…" Sonny Munroe replied, looking up at the sky, hoping that Chad wouldn't remember that he was older than her. She doesn't want to be teased right now.
"Yes. And I'm five…and you are four…and I'm five…Hey! I'm older than you!" Chad exclaimed.
Darn…Sonny thought, but she didn't even flinch but when Chad started to tease her, she started to cry but didn't show it.
"Hey, wittle girl, awe you okay? You're so young. A wittle baby! Waaaa! Waaa! Waaaa!" Chad stared to say but was silenced by Sonny stomping on his foot and running to her house with tears falling from her big, brown eyes.
She ran up the stairs, ignoring her concerned parents and a confused Mrs. Cooper and flung herself on her bed.
After a few minutes, her mom, Connie went inside her room with Chad's mom.
"Honey, are you alright?" Christine, Chad's thirty-two-year-old mother asked her crying godchild.
Sonny slowly shakes her head, which is still face-first in her baby pink pillow.
"Why?"
"Chad…" She sniffled.
Commie and Christine glanced at each other knowingly and Christine quietly tiptoed out of the room and came back with Chad by the ear, who was shouting "Ow. Ow. Ow…"
Christine let go of the five year old and demanded "Explain."
Chad glared at his mom, who glared back, and looked over at the smirking girl with her head still on the pillow. Chad sighed and said "I'm sorry Sonny…"
"That's nice Chad but I told you to explain."
"Oh…But, mommy, I don't wanna bore you with my stories and-"
"Explain or you're grounded for life."
"…I called her a baby…"
"And?" Sonny asked, sitting up. I wanna hear this.
"And…that's it."
"No it's not."
"Yes it is."
"Not!"
"Is!"
"Not!"
"Is!"
"NOT!"
"IS!"
"NOT"
"IS!"
"LIAR!"
"DIVA!"
"JERK!"
"…uh…GIRL!"
"What?"
"You heard me."
"Uh…whatevew. Wanna go owtside, Chad?" Sonny said, hopping out of her bed and walking to her yellow door.
"Fine." Chad said, following the girl.
"Fine."
"Good."
"Good."
And with that, they ran outside while their confused mothers stayed inside Sonny's room.
Christine broke the silence by saying "…Weird kids."
