Calm Confusion
As the sunlight glistens
Upon the water's still surface,
A single leaf floats down
Slowly, steadily, crisp and brown.
Disturbing the silver water's top
And sending ripples left and right.
A noise heard from afar
Rustles the leaves,
Sways the trees
And makes the water shudder.
The light so bright begins to fade
And plunges the scene into darkness.
