Harm and Bud were talking in the bullpen and, as it happens, the topic drifted to Harm's still single status.

"You know the saying, Bud: 'If the Navy wanted me to have a wife, they would've assigned me one.'" Harm said jovially, but in reality hiding his sadness and loneliness over not having found his soulmate yet. Every relationship until now had been a disappointment, the women interested only in having a good looking highly decorated lawyer on their arms.

"RABB!" came the yell of their CO before Bud could respond. "My office, now!"

-----------------------------

Harm noticed a gorgeous blonde Navy LT when he entered the office.

Chegwidden launched right in.

"Lieutenant Commander, the Navy has decided that you need a wife, so you're being assigned one. Meet LT Loren Singer, your fiancee. Get married ASAP and start working on future Navy recruits."

Loren rose slowly from her seat and extended her hand to a shocked Harm. "Hi."

Harm looked deep into her eyes and saw his soulmate staring back at him. A smile stretched his face in a toothy grin. "Hi." he said as he shook her hand.

'I was right', he decided, 'the Navy would assign me one, the right one.'

And it worked out marvelously.
