A/N` Just a short one shot based on the ending scene of the latest Star Trek film. I love Star Trek and this new movie was amazing. Check it out if you haven't already.
The first thing he noticed was how it felt. He didn't know what he expected it to feel like honestly. He had no preconceived notions, or ideas. In fact he had never really thought about it until three years ago, and then with everything that came with being enrolled at Starfleet Academy, both educational and recreational, he had never thought about it, although it still lurked in the back of his mind. And now here he was, at the moment of truth. And it felt……. right. As he sat down into the Seat, he understood the pressure and responsibility that was now heaped upon him, and yet he felt…. Free. All his life, he had been stuck in one place, yet moving all the time. Keeping himself isolated from others, that is except for the occasional one night stand, and yet he never felt free despite his lack of commitment to anyone or anything, never sure of his place in this universe. But now, as he sat down and looked across the bridge and at his new crew, it felt right. And he knew now, that this is where he has always belonged.
"Mr. Sulu?"
"Yes Captain?"
Kirk felt his lips grow into a simile.
"Let's see what's out there."
Space. The Final Frontier. These are the voyagers of the Star ship Enterprise. Her new mission, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.
