No Need For Cruelty…Part 1
'Here we are. Back on Earth. Man It's good to be home.
After weeks in space, we got tired of it. If the Juraians want us they can come and get us…' Tenchi thought as he walked down the stairs of the Masaki Temple, to the fields. The familiar act felt good. Like an old shoe, it's comfortable. It's an accomplishment, a job that was his and he was good at it.
From the house's roof top a figure watched the boy who had captured her interest.
'Tenchi might want to be more careful about what he wishes for.' Ryoko turned her face toward the wind.
'Something's coming.'
She sighed.
'Something big.'
"Awaken, my pet!" cried a man. He had white hair, his face and eyes are hidden in shadow. He stands, proud and strong, behind a window. The window looks over a bed inside a separate room.
The room is lit by surgical lights over the bed. The lights are so bright the white sheets gleam as their occupant moves to answer the call.
"Isis." He hissed to the woman.
She has black hair and the light blue eyes, so light they were almost white. Her eyes were encircled in red, with red vertical slits. She wore a black body suit with red streamers flowing backwards from knobs over her collar bones. Around her waist was a belt with two holsters, holding her two visible weapons.
She moved like the Earth-woman she was named for. She had cat-like grace and her movements were smooth and seductive. Fitting for a cat/sex idol, ne?
There was an intelligent spark in her eyes. She knew her target. She knew her mission. She knew how to accomplish it.
Isis walked toward the table at the far end of the room.
There was a piece of wood on the table. She knew it was fitted for her. She was the only one that could wear it. It was like her life-blood. She took it in her grip. "Seth." The name was imprinted in her mind, her heart, she didn't know what it meant but, right then, she didn't care.
The wood was stronger than it looked and radiated power that just felt right. She slid it up along her neck, under her spiked hair and let the semi-circles settle over her ears. There was a light click and she could feel her power grow.
She continued. She picked up 2 small crystals that had been sitting on either side of her hair band. One she let sink into her own forehead and held the other over the egg on the table. She allowed it to float to the creature.
"Anubis. Awaken." She said in a cold emotionless tone, but somehow she felt stronger. This…thing was as much her as the…stick. Deep inside she thought, 'Welcome friend'. She felt a warm tickle inside her, a response. She smiled.
The air around her strained for a moment. She turned, the small smile still on her lips.
A hand whipped out a struck across the face.
"Master!" she cried as she looked up at him from the floor.
"What was that?" he cried. "Did I say you could smile?" He turned and began to pace. "What's next? Laughter? Conversation? Friendship?!? No!" He turned back at her, an evil fire in his eyes. "Those will interfere here. I will not allow it! Do not disobey me!"
And Isis learned the pain of joy.
