Fruits Basket Summary
Tohru Honda is about 16 and attends high school with the famous 'Prince' Yuki Sohma. Tohru's mom died about 3 months before the story starts and so she's forced to live with her grandfather. Then his house starts getting renovated and she's forced to live in a tent, incidentally, on Sohma land. She comes to live with Yuki and his cousin Shigure in Shigure's house through a series of circumstances and then she meets Kyo Sohma. An orange haired teen with anger management problems, she still manages to break through his anger and finds a very nice boy. Almost immediately after meeting them, she stumbles (quite literally) upon their family secret-certain Sohmas are cursed with the spirits of the Chinese Zodiac and they also have a god who is basically all powerful over them. Throughout the anime, and the beginning of the manga, she meets various people cursed with the animals of the Zodiac until she has met all of them, sympathized with them, and gained their love, affection, or at least respect. Who falls in love with who and what happens after-well, let's just say that's our job!
