Battlefield of the Perfect Soldier

When did I loose my happiness?

Did it disappear?

Or was it snatched away

Just like my childhood?

I am empty, a machine

An emotionless shell

Machines don't have emotions

Or friends for that matter

That's what war does to someone.

I carry out all tasks

Just as a good machine does

Mission accepted. Mission complete.

Is that all there is to my life?

Yes.

I am not swayed by emotions.

Death and Destruction

My only companions

Love and Kindness

What's that?

I say I fight for peace

But I pray the war will not end

With the end of the fighting

Comes the end of my life.

Soldiers aren't needed in a peaceful world.

And being a soldier,

Is all I know how to do.
