Michael was commanding the host of heaven in attacking the Leviathans driving them to purgatory to be locked up. Out of all the angels in heaven all the warriors he had trained one caught his eye in particular her name Cariel. She was a beautiful angel sure, but she was so much more she was loyal, determined and always fought for what she believed in something that made her an excellent warrior and caused Michael to admire her. This was why he was thrilled when she was assigned under his command he could finally get to know her better.
Michael had gotten to know Cariel much better in the following years she was under his command he had against his better judgement become quite attached to her. This caused jealousy from other angels such as Naomi which he was oblivious to no Michael only seemed to have eyes for her now.
Raphael had grown concerned over the years that his brother was losing focus especially when their father left and he became in charge he still seemed to preoccupied to be bothered with ruling heaven. Raphael decided something must be done so when the plan of the apocalypse he found the perfect distraction for Michael's distraction. She would be in charge of protecting the two seals oblivious to their real intent until it became inevitable.
Michael had hardened over the years in heaven without Cariel, he became inpatient with running heaven and fell right into Raphael's plot to let the apocalypse happen.
Michael had resoned to himself after leaving the room that held Cariel and Naomi that Cariel wouldn't hate him after this, for it had to be done it was his fathers will wasn't it? Yes Cariel would soon be fixed and they could go back to how things were as soon as the apocalypse is over.
