FASH: As one of the few het pairs I like in the Eyeshield series, I figured I should at least give them a little something on Valentines Day.

Disclaimer: Still don't own it.

Mamori smiled as she handed out the chocolates she had stayed up late to finish making, calmly going through the familiar motions. She had never been particularly flustered about handing out Valentines Day chocolate, mostly because she never viewed her male classmates as anything more than friends, and her classmates knew that.

But this year was going to be a little different.

Among all the chocolates that she had made with her usual amount of effort was a set that she had painstakingly made to be perfect. She had hidden them at the bottom of her bag, afraid that the different way she had packaged them would alert her classmates to the fact that they weren't the normal chocolates she handed out.

And now all her regular chocolates were gone, and all that was left was her special batch, carefully wrapped up in a light blue bag with a dark pink bow.

During lunch break she slipped out of her classroom and made her way to the one next door, pausing for a moment to settle her frazzled nerves before entering the room.

No one gave her a second glance, as it wasn't entirely too strange for her to come around during the break, and she was extremely thankful for that as she made her way to Yukimitsu's desk near the back, second away from the window.

It was strange how she suddenly felt nervous about approaching someone she'd been friends with and felt comfortable with for the better part of a year now, but she wasn't going to back down just because there were several dozen butterflies fluttering in her stomach.

He didn't notice her until she was right beside him, as she had been partially covered by the mountain of textbooks he'd piled up on the side of his desk.

"Oh, hi Mamori, did you need something?" He asked kindly, giving her a small smile.

Her heart abruptly skipped a beat and she tried to stop herself from blushing without much luck.

"Um, I just wanted to give you something..." She trailed off and Yukimitsu gave her a curious look before twin patches of pink appeared on his own cheeks.

She reached into her almost empty bag and drew out the blue package, hyperaware that the majority of the people in the room were now glancing in her direction with interest.

"Here." She held it out to him, trembling almost imperceptibly.

"Thank you." Yukimitsu softly replied as he gently reached out for the package and brought it down onto his desk.

Soft whispers were buzzing around the room and Mamori felt her stomach clench self consciously, like the first time she ever had to give a public presentation, or like she was on display.

"Happy Valentines Day." She mumbled before turning to exit the room.

"Wait." Yukimitsu stood up and grabbed ahold of her hand, nervously keeping his eyes on the ground. "Did... Did you want to stay here for lunch? The girl beside me always eats with her friends in another classroom, you can use her desk."

Mamori timidly fiddled with her hair, but nodded. "Yes, I'd like that." She moved to the desk and slid it over before settling down with a small smile, Yukimitsu's pile of books providing a make-shift shield from the majority of his curious classmates.

They ate in silence for a while before Yukimitsu managed to gather up the courage to speak.

"On White Day... Did you want to go out sometime?"

Mamori flushed and nodded quickly.

"I'd love to."
